Pathetic Karthik
by Stanley Mathews on Aug 01, 2008 06:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What a pathetic sight it was to see Karthik time and again fumble and miss catches/stumping chances. How long will Kumble's love for him will save him? Why isn't Parthiv donning the gloves- He is also a better bat.

Hi
How do we know that parthiv will be better given the records so far proved karthik to be better...only if we give them a couple of chances we can decide that one is not doing well.this is 2nd test and so may be if karthik does not do well in 2nd innings as well team might decide for parthiv...

so lets be patient.

Chances? Karthik has had more than his share of chances. His basics in wicket-keeping is entirely faulty. He grabs the ball instead of letting the ball come to him. His keeping for the spinners is even worse- he doesn't stay low enough and tends to get up before time. That's why his misses catches off spinners.

After Maharahtrians and Bengalis, tamilians are the worst biased people regarding cricket is concerned. These people always fight for the players from their in any forum and irritate others

Ram, Every community in India is clanish. Northies took it for granted that India is theirs and only they should represent everything in India. Other people specially Southies are just for token representation. After so many years some Tamilians are in cricket and if some spectator favours their kind it is only natural. Though I agree fully Kartik ia s failure and so is Uttappa. Yuvi has been a failure for a long time.

Pace bowling is very poor and should be reinforced with better bowlers like R P Singh, Srisanth and Pathan ...

Yuvraj should be also included in the middle order!!!!!!!!!

Review System
by Jatin Desai on Aug 01, 2008 03:04 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Kumble used first review for LBW for his own bowling. It was turned down.

Team doing badly in test will be further disadvantaged. You have to ask for marginal close calls & it is likely to be turned down. YOu exhaust your 3 unsuccessful reviews fast

On other hand team doing well, will go for review for umpire mistakes & will get it reversed. Since successful reviews are not counted, they will have ample opportuites to correct umpire mistakes.

Team doing well in test have no desparation to ask for close call review & will be benefited .

Margin for victory in test will increase & result possibility will also increase

Jayawardene was 2 metres from the crease for the LBW which was called for review...Kumble should have better judgement and not waste the 3 reviews allowed.

From a Karthik fan........
by Anurag Rathore on Aug 01, 2008 02:43 PM  Permalink

Faisal from USA: "Is Dinesh Karthik the best keeper in India after MS Dhoni? He looks worse than a club wicket keeper. Says quite a bit about Indian selection committee. I have not heard a single word of encouragement from Karthik for any of his bowlers or the fielders. This is just bad!"

Great Kumble's friend Great Karthik !!!!!!
by Anurag Rathore on Aug 01, 2008 02:41 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

22.4       Harbhajan Singh to Sangakkara, 1 run, Stumping chance missed by Karthik. Sangakkara was beaten in the flight, it dipped and went through the bat and pad gap and Karthik grabbed at it and didn't collect it. Harbhajan saw Sangkkara come down and whipped it short of length

I appreciate the nerve of Veeru. The media, and Vengsarkar was after his head for a few failures. But the great Veeru is unconcerned and played in his true style and see Murali and Mendis looked ordinary against him and great against other Incdian batsmen.

Some time back public were baying for Sehwags head!!! now for Sachin ,Sourav & Dravid!!! what about Dhonis head !???????

Some time back public were baying for Sehwags head!!! now for Sachin ,Sourav & Dravid!!! what about Dhonis head !???????

Sehwag is match winner always !!!!!! Why Dhoni played dirty with him!!!

Only some time back people were criticising Sehwag for poor form!!!!!He has been a mtch winner for India!!!Just like other players like Yuvraj,Pathan etc Dada as Captain supported Sehwag even after his loss of form inbetween ...eventually he proved match winner unlike many others who always played for their personal record..

Sehwag was being criticised for string of poor scores only some time back...now he is back with bang!!!!
Dhoni played dirty game with Sehwag .. although Sehwag is a match winner and always with good start and great strike rate makes it easy for India to win the matches,...where as Dhoni s strike rate has gone as he has become Captain with hardly any match winning performance!!!!
For me Dhoni is too much hype and would soon become an avg player..

TO me Sehwag always rocks!!! He desrves to be Captain in test aw well as ODI!!!

All team have mix of Srs & Juniors like Pakistan has Yonus khan ( 39 yrs),Ysuf Khan,..
Jaisurya,Murli,Jaiwardene are as old a Sachin,sourav,Dravid ....
Dhoni is simply trying to fish in the troubled water by making it a controversy..
Aus ODI tri series was won because of Sachin..Dhonis success is mainly due to others..his performance is hardly match winning in last one years

Performance in winning matches since 29 July,2007.

In ODI
1.S.Raina - 95.25 avg.
2.Dhoni - 70.66
3.Sachin - 67.41
4.Sehwag - 63.00
5.Gambhir - 54.21
6.Yuvraj - 48.93

Who tell you that Dhoni's performance is hardly match winning in last 1 year?
In tri-series in Aus Dhoni avg. is 69.40

Look at the strike rate which is very low now after becoming Captain ....do not give selective matches figures for Dhoni ...Which match India won because of his own effort mainly!!!!!!!

Match can't win by Strike Rate. We have to put score on the board, otherwise every team will pick 11 sloggers in team.
