Juniors must read this
by indira on Apr 30, 2008 02:06 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I hope our junior players read what Kumble has said, especially the last sentence. But some of them don't even respect their own seniors let alone the opponents. After winning one or two tournaments they think they are the greatest. If they want to last for as many years as some of the seniors, better they learn from them as how to conduct oneself on and off the field. Sachin, Dravid, Laxman and Kumble are highly respected by their opponents not only for their on field exploits but also for the dignified way they conduct themselves on and off the field. But how many of our so called young heroes are respected by the opposition? None I feel.

Kumble talks like a proffessor. And in life you cannot have book like solutions. You have to face situations and hit back when someone's hitting you. I can understand his teacher like approach considering the fact that in the South people have not seen any war for centuries now. Life cannot be in Black and White...as long as there is humanity there will be greed, aggression, selfishness, love, compassion and so on and so forth

Sp called Big players growing jealous!
by motor mouth on Apr 30, 2008 01:58 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I thinks recent comments from players like kumble , dravid etc show ths inherent jealousy boiling withing them to see new young players rising up in this new format off game called T20...however players like mr.dravid fail to realize that right to earn and play for their country is not sole prerogative of these so called biggies. So for time being why dnt these complacent crackheads give us a break from their snobbish comments...

kumble and dravid have done their part now its time for younger generation....in todays world there is no place for complacency ...speed, aggression and passion is the name of the game ...no body would want a player who wastes 100 balls to score a meagre 10-20 runs...those days r gone... raving and ranting losers can piss off...

Come on... whatever Kumble has said is very much applicable not only to cricketers, but anyone who becomes rich and famous at a very young age like film stars, cricketers, tennis stars & other sportes ppl...

I dont think it came out of jealousy or something...

JEALOUS ............. of what ????

yeah rite ..u dumbass.... they ve been doing for last 15 years what these harbhajans and sreesanth are doing in last 4-5 years .... playing for india, earning money and making country proud

ppl like kumble dravid have always played in the spirit of the game and have always been really tough competitors ... after playing for ur country for so long ... the last thing that would come in mind is being jealous of 24 year olds earning more money than u ....

its high time we ppl start respecting what ppl like sachin and kumble and co. have done for our country rather than ridiculing them at every possible moment

Kumble's Bullshit
by kraft on Apr 30, 2008 01:56 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

First Kumble wants us to give these Immature
Idiots Money and Fame and then "help them to Handle fame"! What for? If they misbehave throw them out like they do in any Private Sector Company.Harbajan and Srresanth deserved the Sack long before this incident.
All those Seniors who have supported Harbajan and Sreesanth are self-serving Hypocrites.

Tit for Tat Sachin Tendulkar Ishtyle.................................
by SachinTheGreat on Apr 30, 2008 01:50 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Cricket has now bcome a Professsional Game with Lot of Pride, Honour and Finance hanging on these Games, So it is Imperative that Indian Cricketer's should not take things lying down.It does not mean that Indian Cricketers should resort to Sledging but they can show Agression thru Performance.

The Great Sachin Tendulkar does not show any emotion or sledge when an Aussie like Brett Lee Sledges him, but he shows his Agression by hitting Brett Lee to all parts of the Ground, till Brett Lee runs for Cover, That is Agression, He will tear Apart Aussie Bowling thru his Performance and not by Counter Sledging.

So Upcoming Cricketer's should make Sachin Tendulkar as their Role Model, rather than Cry Babies like Harbhajan Singh and Sreesanth.

When did Brett Lee run for cover after Tendulkar hit him to all parts of the ground? And when did Tendulkar tear apart Aussie bowling through his performance? Are you playing Cricket 2007 or Cricket 2008 game? Yes, Tendulkar is gentleman enough not to respond to sledging, which is absolutely right. But please do not exaggerate the antics of Sachin. We all know that after 1998, Tendulkar has lost that fire & power & half form of Tendulkar is still good enough for India & its opponents but seriously, come out from the virtual world of cricket into reality. We all love Tendulkar as he is & whatever he has done for India. But you are going too far in your virtual cricket world.

Sachin did hit Brett Lee pretty well maybe a couple of times. After which Lee said, "Sachin moves his bat like a toothpick!" However he also has had success against Sachin.

Kumble you are realy a Fantastic & Gentelman. you are absolutely right, more money & fame make people more vulnerable to many acts.People of this kind need help from professionals. A player should show their talent on the field with the ball or bat not my mouth or physical attacks. ESpecially today's yongsters need badly professional touch & help

All depends upon Sanskar
by V Ravishankar on Apr 30, 2008 01:35 PM  Permalink

Good things suggested by Mr. Anil Kumble, But I think "Sanskar" is much more important than all these things.

Look at Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble,Rajnikanth etc. They all are/were on their Top (and still no challenge is there), but look at their attitude, they are down to earth person. To be a big is not big thing, but to digest the greatness is the biggest thing. Because their Sanskar is top class.

Media
by Vineet on Apr 30, 2008 01:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

And our media needs help in conducting itself. It has messed up everything. They take everything to ridiculous levels if people remember Dhoni's hairstyle.. man.. his this hair is black color, that one brown, length of hair.. i mean they are pathetic. Responsiblity is more of our media.
Remember how the same media made a hero out of Bhajji in Australia and now they are gunning after him.

very right..i agree with you...our media has gone to such a low level you might not find it anywhere else in this world. it seems to me that illiterate people are running the media..pathetic...I am sorry..I am ashamed to say that but at the end of the day we indians cant do anything professionally...give us something..money, fame, power and we will mess it...may be it is in our genes...
