TEAMS PERFORMANCES
by rambo only on May 01, 2008 08:02 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

As expected following are performing well, as they NOT led by budhhaas

1. Chennai
2. Delhi (well Sehwag is NOT as OLD as other 4 budhhas)

Rajasthan - Support them because they were underrated, unfancied, and considered underdogs

The teams of oldies , have failed miserably
1. Tendulkar's Mumbai
2. Dravid's Bangalore
3. Laxman's Hyderabad

IPL is true reflection like a mirror

Vengsarkar and co. pl take note

Delhi dare Devils are not Completly dependent on Overseas Players, But they have a Perfect Team Combination.
by SachinTheGreat on May 01, 2008 07:51 AM  Permalink

Mcgrath and Vettori are Bowlers and not Batsman for the Delhi dare Devils, Mcgrath and Vettori are Instrumental in Picking Wickets for Delhi, in this case 5 Wickets, but if u look at the Batting Scorecard, Gautham Gambhir andShikhar Dhawan were instrumental in Delhi reaching toa total of 191/5.

My Point is Delhi dare Devils not only have good Overseas layers but also great Talented Indian Domestic Players, So Delhi dare Devils are not dependent Only on Overseas Players, but they have a Perfect Team Combination.

Thank God dravid is no longer captaing India otherwise we would have seen defeats and more defeats like the Royal Challengers.

Yes mercifully, he opted out of captaincy himself. One good act by him

Had Dravid been playing like this in American Baseball, he would already have been fired (dropped). I don't know why this fat guy Vijay Mallya is tolerating defeat after defeat. Or may be he does not have the freedom to fire and icon player!

Anguished Bangalore Fan - Uthappa and Not Dravid should have been Bangalore Icon
by Singha on May 01, 2008 07:21 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Here we are discussing 20/20.

Cricketing instincts and basic big hitting skills are most important. Dhoni scored 60 odd runs in 30 balls in Bangalore. If Dravid had similar big hitting skills, Bangalore would have won yesterday. When the required run rate per ball was 150%, and when BLR team was chasing, he significantly wasted the middle overs.

Noone is questioning Dravid's intelligence. Or the fact that he is a thinkinig person, or the fact that he speaks well and girls like him.

Realising his limitations he has dropped himself down. His utility as a player and his skills for fast scoring are minimal. Making him an icon is an insult to bangalore and to 20/20. If Robin Uthappa had represented Bangalore, they would have won much more.

agreed...well said...some addition
......there is saying...."jo jeeta wahee sikander"
I give a damn to technical ability or how much run Dravid has amassed...Dravid is never a match winner in Oneday..forget 20..20...He has just accumulated his runs to keep his position secure in team..which Dhoni realised and throw him out of team....
see...his body language on field....half sleepy....
He is a good test player when you talk about the technical or batting ability .....
His worth only justified in One day when he dons the keeper hat...which he was reluctant to do .....because of obvious reason....how would he sleep....

Well done Delhi Dare Devils...............................
by SachinTheGreat on May 01, 2008 07:17 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Delhi dare Devils will win the Tournament, bcoz they have the most Talented Team in the IPL, they are the only Team that are not dependent on Overseas Players, They are the only Team which has the Maximum number of talented Indian Domestic Players than Any Team, They are the only Team that are not Dependent on Stars, They are the only Team who are not going for Overkill with Marketing.

They Believe in Performance and that is why, Delhi Dare Devils will Win this Inaugral IPL Tournament.

Lousy teams.
by mar gaya on May 01, 2008 07:08 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Bangalore Royal Kallus obviously is a third-rate team. It has no future. Same is the story with Mumbai Indians. One win by MIs doesn't mean anything. The team still remains a Ghaatii team, with a few foreign players.
The suggested team names are:

Mumbai Ghaatiis, Mumbai Paav Bhaajis, Mumbai Vadaa Paavs, Mumbai Usal Paavs, Mumbai Misal Paavs, Mumbai Shreekhands, Mumbai Cutting

For the info of outsiders: Usal Paav, Misal Paav etc
are fast food items sold on Mumbai streets.

Its good that Sachin is not playing for his Ghaatii vadaa Paav team. He would have been just about as successful as Dravid and Ganguly in 20/20. Vengy was right when dropped the three oldies from the T20 format. But these three oldies have become the icon players for their teams, and are as useful as white elephants.

Also Misbah-ul-Haq is in the Bangalore team but unfortunately he is warming the benches while Kallis is playing. Bangalore's selection of the team defies rationale & logic.
