CHENNAI BEAT MUMBAI IN A CLIFFHANGER
by venket subramaniam on Apr 24, 2008 09:32 AM  Permalink

If you analyse the match critically, Mumbai Indian lost the match because of poor or nil planning. After scoring two 4's when the equation became 4 balls 11 runs, Ashish being senior should have made it clear to Nayar that he has to keep the strike and not to attempt for runs unless there is sure possibility of 2 runs. Why in the hell Asish should have taken that run and gifted the match to Super kings. Neverthless a heroic effort by Nayar. Hope better sense will prevail in future under such situations.

Dhoni is a most intelligent caption ever India have.
by raj on Apr 24, 2008 09:30 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dhoni is a most intelligent caption ever India have. His team is weak in bolling side. He don't have any big name as bowler except Murli even then he is winning all games. This shows his Captaincy skills.

I agree with you. Yes, Dhoni is a most intelligent captain. he knows when to change the game. How to trap the batsman. He play with brain and behind the stumps he keeps on planning, what next? if not this. Good going Dhoni.

Saying Dhoni is dependent on Luck is a Foolish Statement. How many times he has to prove he is the Greatest Captain Indian has ever produced??

Rani sen.....when u dont understand the smaller nuances of cricket and the skill sets required for captaincy, batting , fielding & smart bowling (not neccassarily fast bowling) and intelligent field placement based on bowlers strength and batsmen weakness's etec etc etc. Then please do not comment!!!! Mahendra Singh Dhoni with his attitude, character, honesty, skills & straight talking abilities is going to be one of the best captain the World of Cricket has ever seen.

Sachin or Dravid - Who's India's best batsman ever?
by on Apr 24, 2008 09:18 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I'd say Sachin - simply because of the fact that he has been India's mainstay for 2 decades. Then comes the number of runs he scored.
