Prospects of IPL teams by Bald Head on Apr 18, 2008 12:46 PM | Hide replies
T20 is even more of a gamble than 50 over ODIs and it is difficult to predict outcomes. If Zimbabwe can beat Australia in T20 matches and Bangladesh can beat Australia in 50 over matches, what can one really predict?
Inspite of such uncertainty, no force on earth can prevent me from fancying the chances of various teams and making my own assessments (call it guess or wild guess, doesn't really matter, or does it?).
My gut feeling is that today's inaugural match will be won by Kolkata team.
Also, it is my guess that the semifinalists will be Hyderabad (Deccan Chargers), Chennai (Chennai Super Kings), Mohali (Kings XI, Punjab) and Kolkata Knight Riders. May be, Delhi Daredevils can upset and replace one of these teams.
I see no hope really for the rest, viz. Bangalore, Jaipur and Mumbai teams.
But, as I already said, any team can upset any other in the shorter versions of the game.

She has understood well the behavior of congress vs CPI/CPM in the present political context and thinks to take advantage if possible to counter another road show circus of Rahul now in U.P.
They think that people are sheep and can be tamed or fooled as they like.
Mayavati can not be blamed alone when others show much more crude way of looking things in India.
Let her withdraw the support and announce it instead of announcing and threatening now and then.

there is no meaning of keeping such records of fastest 100s with shortened boundaries in ipl. It is unfair to the players who might hv scored 100 on the big grounds.
even otherwise, this is not an intnl match so as to keep records as century of t20 International (TTI). this is just a local match oof t20 in IPL. Just as ODI and local one-day matches r not equal for the statistical records purpose.

Gilly had continuous 18 matches without scoring runs more than 20.R u attracted by his attacking way.If Sachin is being asked to attack he will tear into pieces even the best bowling attack in the world.Luk at the average of Sachin and Gilly. How can u dare to compare both? U r talking like F..ing Australians.R u an Australian or an Indian.Even those who dont know anything abt cricket wont compare Sachin with Gilly.May be with Ponting and that too 1yr back.

Rani Sen the ultimate clairvoyant: Mumbai is the DEFINITE winner.. :-) That was the assessment pre-match.
Post-match: What happened? Mumbai lost? "Yes. I always maintained that Mumbai is not a strong team. i had said they are the definite winners if they play well. They didn't play well, and also Sachin wasn't playing, and also the Juhu beach Pav Bhajiwala didn't put his stand exactly as I had told him to.... all this led to the unfortunate conclusion.." :-)
What's the state's or country's pride involved when one money bag's purchased player beats the other money bag's bought out player. What a fall for the game !!!
