kick them out
by mayawati on Apr 15, 2008 10:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Head Line - Sachin is having groin injury and will not be able to take part in test match..

Lalchand Rajputm the IPL mumbain coach next day - he will be fine in a month and will take part in IPL...reason for his comment - so that IPL mumbai brand does not devalued that would have cost them alot in terms of media rights an advertise without Sachin.

net result ... unnecessary pressure on Sachin to fit there self before IPL whether they can or not...

all these media and marketing guys like Rajput, Lalit Modi, Bindra has nothing to do with nation pride and cricket..they are just there to earn more and more money and entice young players like Yuvraj and Dhoni for greed of money...

they should be kicked out of game than only something good can happen to Indian cricket.

For the first time in my life I find myself agreeing with 'Behenji'. How else can one explain the total dominance of a few persons on the cricket establishment in the country?????????? Year after year, you see the same faces in the establishment, the only difference being in the designation of the post. One is a secretary in one term & treasurer in the next, vice-president in the next & special secretary in the next & so on..............
These persons just serve their business interests while caring two hoots for the development of cricket in the country. They should all be chucked out of the system & flushed down the drain.

the most corrupt cricket administrator with millions stashed away in swiss bank is now making a grand stand. Only BCCI officials can do this and not have eggs thrown at them

Agreed. It doesnt increase intensity to watch matches involving different players. Its just money business. If players are bid in auction, and selected for a particular team, then their motto is to earn huge money. It enhances greed of players just like in match fixing.

You mean EPL is also just a money game???
And FYI players will not have the right to change the team from next year, meaning a player can not just leave and join another team if the other one pays more! It depends on the first team whether they want to release the player or not. This is the standard format of each and every league in the world! Be it football, american football, baseball NBA, ice hockey etc. And look at the chance youngsters are getting to play against and with the best players in the world. I think IPL and ICL are the best thing occurred to young players of India!

ICL Vs IPL
by kalyanam raman on Apr 15, 2008 08:51 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Full credit to Kapil Dev and his team for the successful completiton of ICL tournaments. They have achieved this against all odds and opposition from all corners. Every cricket lover in India know the difficulties faced by Kapil and his team for the conduct of ICL tournaments. Imagine its success, if they get full support from all concerned including BCCI. The jam packed Lal Bahadur Sastry Stadium in Hyd for the series, itself shows the support of the public for ICL.

I agree with your view and must say hats off to Kapil Dev for successfully organising the ICL braving all odds and obstructions put up by the evil minded people heading the BCCI! IPL organsiers should know that they are the rebels against the national cricket not the ICL.
Indian cricket is not not safe in the hands of the corrupt and money minded administrators.

Agreed in TOTO!!!!
Bindra belongs to coterie of BCCI who do not bother to sell the interest & self respect of country !! This includes the BCCI officials like Sharad Pawar, Bindra, Lalit Mody & the like who are only greedy for money & position and can sell Indias interest for the sake of money & position to ICC or anybody!!!
This has been the track record of BCCI!!! full of petty politics creating divisions by politics like Sr vs Young controversy, involving Chappel,Kiran More to remove Sourav etc.
BCCI record is a shameful ,now they are promoting 20-20 .... A casino cricket..hardly a cricket!!!

Cricket ....... A game or a corporate investment
by Its Me on Apr 15, 2008 07:19 PM  Permalink

Cricket as a sport has ceased to exist. It has changed into a money making corporate entity. Its a business investment which generates a huge revenue. I think like any other business BCCI's income should be taxed in the same lines of the other corporates and no govt. benefits should be given to the players or BCCI. These guys get lot of money by playing and every time they win they are given great benefits by the Govt, like houses and money. This is an additional income for them, but our tax money. Why dont they give a tax relief to the common man with that money.
