srk
by Sahara on Apr 14, 2008 02:52 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

srk should not worry if he makes any losses in this venture, as he can always dance in some industrialist's son's wedding and earn dollars/pounds, like he did for laxmi mittal's sons wedding in kolkata, but i guess marriage season is about to end, so he should hurry up!

by Scorpio on Apr 14, 2008 02:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Obviously the sponsors will pull the money from their products by increaing the cost of it.. thus adding to inflation..

Please dont support such things which will hamperr india's growth..

I'm not against cricket.. i want to support IPL but not at country's growth's cost..

by plug in on Apr 14, 2008 02:47 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

WHY you need to do other show ... If people love Cricket, they will come to watch Cricket ... Dont show sexy actress shows over Cricket name .. try to boost the game and people will join soon.

Its not a Flim, Chak De .. where India can easily win World Cup ... SRK .. its not easy to earn money ... ha ha ha

IPL - Bolloywood and Cricket
by on Apr 14, 2008 02:46 PM  Permalink

I do remember about how Bollywood and underworld worked seamlessly once upon a time to the benefit of 'few'. Now it seems to be Bolloywood and cricket. Shame on us!

Feel Sorry for IPL
by ramesh on Apr 14, 2008 02:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

First of all we need to understand the reason why IPL started, is it because of ICL or for really to promote cricket or as said by many to rake in the moolah for the BCCI.If it was really to promote cricket then board should be ready to negotiate with the media, without which IPL will be a great flop and on the other hand ICL is doing great.

ha ha ha, who told u ICL was doing well.Apart from Zee channels no body in the media has even covered the finals, if you ask 10 people who took max wickets or who scored highest in the final only one out of ten would know it.
IPL looks overconfident about the success, nobody has succeeded in any new concept by taking the people for granted.
But I am sure with lot of stars IPL will be better followed than PENSION CUP of ICL

IPL Cricket
by Pulipakkam SrinivasaRaghavan on Apr 14, 2008 02:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

With so much of cricket in IPL, ICL (Zee) and official matches, the game will die its natural death. Nobody needs to take any extra pain to make it die/a flop.

All those involved in the bidding and other activities of IPL, should feel ashamed with crores of money pumped into it. Who pays for it? Ultimately, its we, the general public, by way of all purchases of consumer itesm that we do; these sponsorship/franchisee costs are inbuilt in it.

With such large scale underdevelopment all around, few people garnering crores of rupees, is justified? What is their significant contribution to the nation? Cricket has been played for over a century. Why so much hype now and crores being spent/paid?

Anyone responsible will answer?

let me tell youa basic costing principle. The profits come not by increasing the price but by buiding up the volumes. The sponsors will try to sell more, more to each old segment and they'll try to create more new takers to their product. And if the product is not a softdrink or chips its okay to build volumes, its perfectly legal.

agree with you partially. But this is not new, crores of money was already being spent on media and sponsorship of one dayers and tests. Even the tests and one dayers didnt contribute in any way.

I wish that IPL should go flop.....
by shamik on Apr 14, 2008 02:41 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I would be the happiest person if IPL goes flop. It is just a business for few people like Shah rukh khan, ambani. Fooling the country men. Instead of investing so much on these stupid things let them do something for the country and needy people.
My request to all person who will read my message is that please do not watch IPL. Let them lose thier money. Dont make a fool of yourself. It is just business in the name of cricket.

IPL becoming too big for it good - before any performance
by Y Singh on Apr 14, 2008 02:37 PM  Permalink

IPL is making too many enemies and very few friends. If media and their own francisees are unhappy its likely that the viewers will not queue up. Poor Sharukh, Mallaya, Preeti and others...they will lose a lot of money due to arrogance of Modi.
