bcci and ipl are an abusive monopoly. the latest instance just goes on to show that they are nothing but a bully. i'm sad that bcci is using its influence for the worse. this is totally commercialised. this is negative. we as a country should be concerned about the direction our corporates are taking - utter disregard for the right stance. we are getting sold out. money rules - there's little evidence of bcci having the right intents.
yes, i think it is the right move by BCCI. bcci have realised that cricket is a slave's game. if you dont believe, check the cricket playing nations. all of them(countries) were and are british slaves. and with internet, the propagation of this slave's game is very fast. but now with the ban, the propagation of this SLAVE'S GAME will be slowered.

If we want to check the propagation of this game further we should ban it on TV channels. If they don't simply boycott all cricket showing channels. I think WWE and WWF games are better than cricket.
Guys if IPL fails to attract viewers then BCCI is ready with the backup plan. Then after IPL specil three match series will be played between bidders of IPL teams & BCCI members. Bidders team will be led by SRK & BCCI team will be led by Sharad Pawar. Umpires for that match will be Mandira Bedi & Mallika Sherawat. So BCCI says by this we will get cricket, buisness, bollywood, glaour everything together.

ipl has lost its mind in enforcing a ban on websites reporting news. the scores are news - little else. it cant be property of bcci - generating content. its utter crap. cricket isnt anything without a medium. i dont know whats going on in our backyard where my neighbours play cricket - because there's zero coverage of that game (however stupid). similarly...
For the following reasons, i think IPL is gonna be a total farce :
1) ICC not recognising these as official 20-20 internationals...most players like Yuvi, Jaya will just use it as a slambang kind of promotional stuff where everytime a six is hit, there will be some cash prize etc and the dancing girls will go crazy... No motivation due to lack of official status...just some entertainment..
2) City loyalty and rivalry is just a gimmick in this globalized and boundaryless world...20 years back, when there was only Indian airlines, people remained restricted to cities... Today a Punju works in Mumbai, Tamil works in Bangalore, Marathi works in Gurgaon etc... Also, Ponting playing for a Kolkata and actually being able to generate chauvinism towards Kolkata or a Jaya generating chauvinism for a Mumbai is highly far-fetched and artificial...there is no genuine love for the city franchise at all...all international players have only come for the money....
3)Highly opportunistic where Modi has started IPL just to generate multiple income streams...media rights, TV rights etc...no love of the game, no knowledge of the game etc...eg. most of the sponsors or owners(Eg. Sharukh for Kol) don't have an iota of understanding of the game and have never played it.......what credibility will a owner enjoy when he does not have an iota of understanding of the game where he has put in money?? It is like a private equity investor or VC putting money in some area and not having an iot

4) IPL is just a knee jerk reaction to ICL and has not taken into account several factors like player fatigue and overwork, disruption of international schedules etc...sooner or later, disruption of schedules and loss of players will make the country boards sit and take notice and arm-twist the IPL into bringing about changes...
Plus many more reasons really...a concept doomed to failure cos it is based on a rather flimsy foundation!!
This is the Simple Solution, Bcoz the Joker's of BCCI IPL and SETMAX will do all the Gimmicks to get Public Attention.
First thing they will Rope in Mandira Bedi Wearing Skimpy Clothes or Some Saree to Insult National Flag and Create Controversies to Grab Attention.Then will Host a 2 and 1/2 Hour Show before the Match Calling alll Joker's Like NavJot Singh Siddhu, Ian Chappell, Barry Richards and Ian Bishop and these Joker's will Dance with Mandira Bedi.??????????????
Then they will Call Some Tarot Card Reader, Then They wil Show HarBhaja Singh and YuvRaj Singh Mother's Cooking Paratha's, Then They will Invite All Bollywwod Joker's who will Come to Publicize their Movie and Dance with Mandira Bedi to Fool the Audiences.????????????????????????????????
