Nothing wrong as long as the team learns and hits back on day 2 and 3. This the least this young team of M. S. Dhoni can do for a senior statesman like Anil Kumble. Kapil dev and Sandip Patil were once dropped for poor shots. I hope they do the same to Dhoni......Akshay.
It is true that you can't have a golden day everyday in cricket but why this happens more frequently with Indian cricket is that after a splendid performance, a very weak performance follows. Two reasons for sure: Complacency, cricketers suddenly become heros and Gods with just one performance, secondly we dont pick players on the basis of merit. BCCI is sleeping over the issue that 3 years down the line, they may have to induct 4 batsmen as Sachin, Rahul, Saurav and Laxman will retire- almost together. It is time to say good bye to them one by one and have replacements. Ganguly should be targetted first, followed by Laxman and then Rahul and Sachin. We need young legs and young minds who play for country rather than for their own records. That is the only reason we cud win 20-20 and under 19 world cups... and still struggling in test cricket.

But they can't play the test cricket which is the origial cricket dear...... thay can play on 20-20 and the shorter version of the cricket which don't require the skills ad technique... only young legs can't do any thing....
Every one is really disappointed at this performance of team, but i think that atleast they have managed to score a 50..,which is really a competetive score in the upcomin IPL..
In his recent article in one of the websites, Sanjay Manjrekar wrote that India is not affected by Injuries and they have the bench strength. I would assume he meant only about the injury of one man against whom he has been all over in recent times. I am not saying if that player would have played, he would have rescued India, but I believe apart the skill that he has, he would have provided extra cushion for VVS and Saurav to play and also it would have meant a different kind of strategy for the opposition players, which could have created some comfort for India. I am not sure why India still persists with Sreesanth, I can't remember a good performance from him in recent times, India should have opened the bowling with Irfan. And Dhoni, does he plays according to the situation only in onedayers, where he is the captain? I hope the batsman come good in the second innings, and India save or rather don't loose this match, but this "test" tests the captiancy skills of Kumble.

Why does the Indian Team always have the same composition? Any player is entitled to have an off day. One can not be good consistently. It is human to err. Why do we not rotate players? Let us find out how the player that have never been selected do against good teams. There are only one or two players from the under 19 squad that won the World Cup in England who are now playing at the Senior Level. Why do we not give more players a chance?
Sonia Gandhi should apologise for this..and Manmohan sigh shud resig. This all happens only because of that public enemy called Sonia Gandhi. Rahul Gndhi is also starting to be responsble. If BJP was ruling this wud not have happened. Atleast, RSS and Shiv Sena can dig up the pitch for 2nd day and stop this test Mtach. Jai Advaniji, Jai Vajpayeeji and Jai Hindu country.

Great performance by Indian Team. Is BCCI not doing road show of the indian cricket team for the massive performance? They have to be honored at Ferozsha kotla stadium. I wanted to see who will be paid the highest money. Are there any franchises bidding for this team? May be Sharad Pawar..

Well said Srinivas. When BCCI is so eager to reward the team, they should equally punish the team.
This is prelude to the IPL's 20-20 and the Lakhs & Crores that the auctions have assured the players. Looks like a good beginning is being made for what is to come soon. Well done Jumbo and his mini jumbo's!!!Continue in the same spirit. Stmehta

Why're you scolding Kumble? Tu maha paap kar raha hain. You will reap bad karma if you assail a devoted and honest man like Kumble. If you want criticise those non-performers who start howling and jumping when the opposition plays badly and lets them score a few runs.

i think that money didnt matters m, what matters is fame. thats the reason for todays performance that everyone including players are going for money and not for fame.
