In a previous article (http://in.rediff.com/cricket/2007/sep/26bonus.htm), the idiotic author says "Modi ignores Pathan brothers" but after so much of blasting from the readers, Rediff has realized their blunder and removed the article. Now Rediff has come up with another article after the cash prize is announced but the article says "Gujarat Government gives 5 Lakhs", not "Modi gives 5 Lakhs". GROWUP COMMUNAL REDIFF. SHAME ON YOU.

Why can't I look at it this way - Modi / Guj Govt gave Rs 5 lacs only after he has been criticised all ove and by rediff. So that way rediff's article has served some purpose

Absolutely incorrect. I don't think even 2% of the population reads Rediff. Rediff article and the opinion formed by its readers will have and would have little difference for Modi or for that matter any issue.

CMs are not Rajas or Maharajahs. Whos money are they spending ?
They can gift their personal money as gift to anyone they like, but this kind of un-checked tax money spending is insane.
Indian players are NOT under-paid. The BCCI will and does compensate them well.
I am not a big fan of Modi and I am not sure what his motivations are but I do not believe that it is right for a CM to shell out TAX money when there are other genuine and more pressing needs within the state.

it is nothing to do with some criminal record of modi that prompted america to deny entry to their country. it is the mob mentality of the so called secular groups who made all the fuss and effort to see that he was denied the visa, so that he can become even more an eternal villian in the eyes of muslims. do you think modi is that dangerous a criminal than someone like Ahmadinejad who is in record saying he would like to wipe out israel from the world map, or the his habitual denial of holocaust or to the least the support he and his country gives to the terriost group like hizbollah!. you guys one day will be going all out against USA and the other day will be supporting US for the visa denial asthough that was the ultimate proof of his modi's villainy. don't you find yourself at the height of hypocrisy!

Pathans got the rewards coz that modi relized that showing his deep-rooted hatered for muslims by ignoring pathans may cost him his cosy CM seat so his awarded pathans against his real will. He hates muslims like anything. If I remember corrctly once, this modi boiled his hand for 1 hour to regain purity after shaking hands with a muslim leader. What is the need of state government paying the money to cricketers. Anyway whose money are they so liberally giving to cricketers. Its the tax payers money.
The cricketers have already got nearly 70lacs from BCCI. If the state government had used the money for some developmental purpose then I would have been happy.

Cabinet minister I K Jadeja confirmed to PTI that the government will be giving Rs five lakh award to the both the cricketers from Vadodara.
Yesterday, Gujarat Cricket Assocation (GCA) also announced that it will felicitate all members of the victorious Twenty20 team on the sidelines of the NKP Salve Challenger Series which will be held next month at the Sardar Patel stadium at Motera near here.
Earlier in the day, the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) also announced a cash reward of Rs 11 lakh to each member of the cricket team.

although cricketers shud b given due credit for their achievement, the fact is that they r very rich. and if they need to be encouraged by way of money, just give it from the bcci's tijori or from state ckt association's tijori and not from the govt's exchequer which is the common man's hard earned money. and pl dont bring communal angle to the issue of irfan. firstly u shud know that persons celebrating indian victory over pak were attacked in jammu (and that jammu is in india and not in pak).
