why give away free money of tax payers to the cricket team which is not even represents INDIA it is a known fact that BCCI is a private body based in dubai it pays its taxes in DUBAI then why does it need INDIAN money for its players i think its BULLSHIT either they should play for india or for bcci first let the players decide. Giving money is not necessary but at least he could have congratulated them.Players are doing more for the country than stupid politicians.
He want to cash his anti-muslim image in comimg assembly elections. This again goes on to show the communal attitude of Modi. In case he dont want to waste public money atleast he could have praised them. We Indians are realy ptoud of them. Politician go to hell. They are there to devide the society whether it is congress or BJP or any other party and play the dirty game of vote bank politics.
people like you an i work hard, pay our taxes, and then the govt distributes this money like this. This is why non-plan expenditure shoots up. please grow up, and understand that the CMs are not giving money from their pockets.

dear savarkar what about the tax payers money spent in lavish state sponsored political functions, moving in cavalcade of cars, spending on z level security, party conferences in 5 star hotels followed by lavish lunches & dinners and of course on compaigns like India Shinning ----whose money all this is'nt tax payers money.
there is a question of feeling and gratitude to the achievers at a world level competition which is expected even from a ordinary person in balanced mind, which is missing in case of our great Modi ji.
i think everything is ok, but BCCI should not give yuvraj the special 1 crore. reason is they played all as a TEAM. it was b'cos of the bowlers we were able to contain aussies & S.A. & even England (b;cos they lost by just 18). why credit alone goes to yuvraj who refused to play against South Africa, citing injury in his hand, which was a crucial one??? this will create a big problem in the team...BCCI should not be carried away by these things. Govt is giving prise-money is a diff. thing.......thnks,
That is exactly what Mr. Modi would have wanted to as was done during his 'shuddikaran' (ethnic cleansing of muslims from areas in Gujarat). We are talking about a man who is nothing short of a terrorist and a shame to the country. Why has there been no announcements from Gujarat CM. Simple cuz ironically - 2 players who are doing India proud and have helped brought the cup home are MUSLIMS. Bottom line - that is the bottom line. Muslims and Indian Muslims are as patriotic as you are Mr. Modi. Irfan's and Yusuf's jubiliations and work show that. Grow up - you can never get rid of us - you can try as hard as you want. We will always strive and struggle to do India proud. Jai Hind.

no one said to burn them grow over your idiotic inferiority complex and take a look around. everyone is proud of the pathans. if giving them a sum which amounts to a tiny portion of their salary an indication of 'secularism', thank God I am not secular!

Sreesanth too got a cash award of 5 lac from the state govt. Some people donot keep themselves updated. Somebody tell Modi that ignoring heroes because they belong to a certain community would not make him loose the elections, but instead it will be an opportunity to prove that he is good leader.

Author of the article please explain; there are other players like Shreeshanth, Harbhajan Singh, V. Sehwag, G. Gambhir, D. Karthik.
The so called circketers are already millionares....plus after this win they are bound to get a lot of endorsements and get even richers....there is no need to waste government money on them.....Instead it can be used for other public welfare purposes, or even for development of other sports.....like even our hockey team had a great victory......!!!
