Money for building nation
by Jayesh Menon on Sep 26, 2007 01:31 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Narendra Modi is more concerned about Gujarat's growth than paying to these criceters. I am happy that we have atleast one sensible chief minister left in India. BCCI earns so much money that it can easily take care of the players. People's money should be used for the development of the country and not to be distributed to sports persons. Already we are burdened with currupt bureaucrats and politicians.

Bad Article
by devendra bandooni on Sep 26, 2007 01:31 PM  Permalink

Its the BCCI to make any give and take from the players. Already these players are getting a lot by BCCI, ICC, Advertisements. So it is not a compulsion for any chief minister to give prize. If any one do it, it should be welcomed and if any body dont do it, he/she should not be blamed.

Dear All,
Money or No money. But this was a really very a moment of proud to see both the bros in the team and playing the finale.I am sure the people of Gujarat will never forget the contribution on these brothers.I am sure that the Industrialist and enterpeneaur will do something in appreciation of Yusuf and Irfan.Let us not hope from Mody.I know this guy,s attitude who even didnot like to see the green color on the equipments of one of the state controlled industry. He is a fanatic and creates communal disharmony.

I will love to be proved wrong. But the fact remains that this format suited most of Indian players, no need to stay at the wicket hit out a few strokes and come back. Only exception being Gambhir and Yuvraj. The real test of character for these guys will be against the Australians in the coming ODI series. If they are able to beat them in 50 over format then they will be the real heroes and Indian cricket can hope that future is in safe hands.

Its a Shame to Rediff and its staff
by Sam on Sep 26, 2007 01:30 PM  Permalink

With all the great effort from people of Gujarat lead by Narendra Modi, state has shown tremondous growth and prosperity. Though it is not visisble to most of the media, they are always trying to make a blunder.

Why Modi should give money to players from Gujarat?
Did they won any war against Pakistan or did Pathan brothers have done any great work for the state/country to remember?

REDIFF IS TRYING TO MAKE A PUBLICITY STUNT to HYPE thier IMAGE (as it is done by NDTV and India TV) AND NOT BOTHERED ABOUT THE FACT AND FACETS.

Some one will tell tomorrow that since they are muslims he didn't give money....

rediff should remove this article
by biju namboodiri on Sep 26, 2007 01:29 PM  Permalink

This article is totally unwarranted and biased. Only 7 player is mentioned who has got some reward , there are others too who has not received any reward...like Sreesanth ..his excellent bowling in semifinal and the catch on the final ( at least better than Agarkar's performance)..Dinesh Karthik...etc . So why single out Pathan brothers and Modi...
