This shows how cheap Modi is. It is very obvious why the Pathan bros wer ignored. Is this c h o o t i y a Modi our leadre? Such a low IQ cheap b a s t a r d this Modi m a d e r c h o d is. He is a shame to the human race. He should be publicly stoned and then hanged to death.
Are you a qualified journalist, Mr.Zore? Before insinuating, like many TV self appointed journos, please take a balanced view and then fix Modi or whoever. In the first place, all those CMs who rewarded those players hailing from their own state should be termed as linguistic chauvinists as they have taken a narrow perception. These players were representing their country not their respective states. Hence, when it comes to reward if the State CMs choose their own wards they are displaying a lingusitic or a narrowere regional prejudice; as worse as Modi's religious prejudice (as you seem to insinuate). All these State CMs should have divided the whole amount what they wanted to give to their own wards among the entire team, irrespective how small it may be- Rs. 1 lac per head is respectable enough!- and come out more honourable. Now watch! Modi may be doing it and all CMs come across as chauvnists!
There is a distinction between a State Board of BCCI announsing these bonanzas to their own players and a state govt announcing the same. There is nothig wrong if a state cricket association gives it to their members. But here a Govt is taking such a narrow partisan stand.
Your suggestions like many TV third rate journos are not only unqualified journalists worth any grain of salt or it is a clever ploy of coming across as more secular than thou attitudes! In fact, in doing so you are only nurturing your selfish interests and image and actually creating a greater divide!

Kabeer, the motive of states is to encourage the current and budding players and to motivate them to perform well. And leave aside cash prizes, even a couple of nice words and recognition of the feat acheived, would have been enough by Mr.Modi. His deliberate ignorence only shows his poor thinking and idealogy.

To be honest, a lot of garbage has been dished out in this platform. Finally a sane view!!GR8 Kabeer!! Why should we or anyone of us be thinking in state/caste/religious levels? I thought it was Team INDIA that was on the field. After all this bile that has been allowed to flow, makes me wonder as to in what way we have been any different than Shoaib Malik!!

Very well said. Mr. Zore you should apologise if you have any iota of shame.
Monster Modi of Gujarat is the only exception, who has not announced any reward nor put out even a congratulatory statement for Irfan and Yusuf Pathan -- two Indians from Gujarat who played for India and helped us win.

What has your message got to do with Irfan and Yusuf Pathan? The question why did he not even congratulate 2 people of his state who did well for India in sports, which see no religious lines?
If Modi hates all muslims he is no better than Hitler who hated all Jews.

Ashole Girish, India and Hinduism are 2 different things moron. People like you have tunnel vision. India is a great country inhibited by Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Jews etc. etc. Hinduism is a religion and not a country, fish brain.
All the CMs are crazy buggers..... they are not paying from their pockets.. It is the hard earned money of people like us, even rediff employees..think before writing.. The electronic media is caught in the mad orgy of undue hype . Atleast the print media should be responsible and act accordingly.. What is more ridiculous and surprising is that instead of praising modi for not succumbing to cheap popular tactics.. we are lambasting him.... Why should they be paid again.. they have done something which is expected from them.. winning! Also, the BCCI already has generously showered trinkets on them.. there is no reason for jokers like mayawati, hooda etc to declare rewards for them.. put that money to some other good social cause..

Totally agree with your point. There is no point in giving them xtra awards when they have been rewarded by BCCI & also they are earning huge amt's thru endorsements. Instead this money should be used to develop infrastucture/education in their respective states as it is taxpayers hard earned money.
Mr. Zore, pray tell me why should any government give awards to the cricketers when they are swimming in so much advertising and bcci money. The tax payers money is better used else, by the way why pick on Mr.Modi alone, even the so called Secular DMK government has not announced anything to Dinesh Karthik, the kerala government has not given anything to Sreesanth, shall we say the same thing karthik was not given any award because he is a brahmin and sreesanth was not given any thing by the government because he belongs to the upper caste. Anyway when has Mr.Modi given away tax payers money to anyone, so as to say that he is biased and hence not announced anything now. Rediff led by sai shivaswamy was very gracious enough to disengage Ms.Varsha Bhosale, will the same editors have enough courage to stop this mad crap writer from writing on rediff.
"...but why bother, when the reason is as plain as the nose on the chief minister's face?.." If you were to finish the article this way, why did you bother us? Why did you write this, Prasanna Zore? -Athradi Suresh Hegde, Bangalore
Modi is correct in not offering any reward. The cricketers are paid very high amount and what is the need to pay again. All the other state governments wanted to cash on the TV news and name. It is the duty of the cricketers to try to win the game. Since all the governments have paid to the cricketers it is moral duty of Modi that he also should also pay to Pathans. What harm they have done to deprive of the amount which other state governments have paid to other cricketers
