What Narendra is doing ia absolutely correct. This team will some slog tournament and loses the next ten matches. Jusst watch out. This team will e belted by other teams in the coming months and years. and they dont deserve anything beyond this. Pls not other games were about to take shape after the collapse of cricket.

All the state govts. have announced reward on their own without asking from someone or without someone's pointing it out. Moreover, no Chief Minister has paid reward from his own pocket. So, is it fair to ask Modi to follow his compatriot. And this is also not necessary to announce rewards in public. He may suitably reward Pathans after they reach their home/state.
Congrats Rediff,you did your duty showed the country what is happening in somebody's mind and their actions when EVERY INDIANS are enjoying with TEAM INDIA win.

This article conveys a very very wrong message and should be taken off asap. If rediff's view is also as that of the author, then it's an example of sheer narrow-mindedness. I am sure that with this article in the background, if the Guj govt does not announce an award for these two players soon, someone else will and thast too in the name of 'SECULARISM'. And that would be a real real bad thing!!
Mr. Great MK of Tamil Nadu, who loves to hurt only HINDUS, and repeatively says NO GOD, but accept Jesus & Allah as GOD, also ignored any announcement..He gave 15 lakhs to MS or MR Santhi(controversial athelete)...but he did give any congratulation message neither announced any momentom......
Before insinuating, like many TV self appointed journos, please take a balanced view and then fix Modi or whoever.
In the first place, all those CMs who rewarded those players hailing from their own state should be termed as linguistic chauvinists as they have taken a narrow perception. These players were representing their country not their respective states. Hence, when it comes to reward if the State CMs choose their own wards they are displaying a lingusitic or a narrowere regional prejudice; as worse as Modi's religious prejudice (as you seem to insinuate). All these State CMs should have divided the whole amount what they wanted to give to their own wards among the entire team, irrespective how small it may be- Rs. 1 lac per head is respectable enough!- and come out more honourable. Now watch! Modi may be doing it and all CMs come across as chauvnists!
There is a distinction between a State Board of BCCI announsing these bonanzas to their own players and a state govt announcing the same. There is nothig wrong if a state cricket association gives it to their members. But here a Govt is taking such a narrow partisan stand.
Your suggestions like many TV third rate journos are not only unqualified journalists worth any grain of salt or it is a clever ploy of coming across as more secular than thou attitudes! In fact, in doing so you are only nurturing your selfish interests and image and actually creating a greater divide
