I am amazed to see the public support for such activities. It is great that the Indian team won the world cup, but this behaviour of the CMs is in line with the Rajas & Maharajas of the old times.
CMs are not Rajas or Maharajahs. Whos money are they spending ?
They can gift their personal money as gift to anyone they like, but this kind of un-checked tax money spending is insane.
Indian players are NOT under-paid. The BCCI will and does compensate them well.
I am not a big fan of Modi and I am not sure what his motivations are but I do not believe that it is right for a CM to shell out TAX money when there are other genuine and more pressing needs within the state.

Read comments Mr. Prasanna Zore Your thinking is not acceptable to more then 50%. So now write an article about how other CMs are wasting our hard earned money like Romans wasting money on games.
Welldone to Modi, Kerala CM, TamilNadu CM and others who have not wasted money.
IF YOU ARE A LAWYER, plz file a public petition to stop wasting our money by these CMs. These CMs are already very rich with bhrastachar. If they want, they should spend their own money.

Praising a sportman is sportmanship and rewarding him is a way we can help this person's for making India pride.As i seen the diffirent comments on this page.i thought i should write as this people are speacking about poverty line and per capita income.this all statistics are OK. What all the CM's have done is correct as these boys deserve to get the reward from there state Governament.One thing we should not forget as government is for people.if it is not helping a sportman.then it is difficult to have healthy community. GUWAHATI: At least two persons including a senior police official were injured during a clash between supporters of India and Pakistan cricket teams at Sapatgram in Bangladeshi immigrants dominated Dhubri district of western Assam.
Police informed that the clash sparked off after a few Muslim supporters of Pakistan cricket team set fire to the house of a Hindu supporter of the Indian team after India clinched the final match in T20 World Cup at Johhanesberg on Monday night.
