Absolutely agree with you. Unfortunately the governments and media talk only about cricket. The hocky achievements go unnoticed. And rediff wont even shed crocodile tears. Any answer Prasanna??

I am amazed to see the public support for such activities. It is great that the Indian team won the world cup, but this behaviour of the CMs is in line with the Rajas & Maharajas of the old times.
CMs are not Rajas or Maharajahs. Whos money are they spending ?
They can gift their personal money as gift to anyone they like, but this kind of un-checked tax money spending is insane.
Indian players are NOT under-paid. The BCCI will and does compensate them well.
I am not a big fan of Modi and I am not sure what his motivations are but I do not believe that it is right for a CM to shell out TAX money when there are other genuine and more pressing needs within the state.

In football we won nehru cup & in hockey we won asia cup but nobody bothered about those players, even those players played for india and made India proud. people should appreciate those players also & these idiot politicians should spend some money on hockey grouds, football grounds & other facilities for other forms of games rather than filling there pockets. india have talent no doubt but players need facilities. wake up idiot politicians.
yes its very clear now that modi dont have patriotic feeling and no interest in nation. all the chiefministers gave award from public money not from their pocket. and public so happy after this winning world cup. any way modi keep it up now public knows u better and in comming days they will forget u for sure

Hi Kapil, ask people like me who have spend their life in Gujarat, about how Modi has ruined our state in the name of religion. He has only played dirty politics, used the common man, instigated them and thanks to him the Godhra riots are still fresh in our memory! Give me one good reason to praise him, friend! And let me tell u, a CM who cannot keep his state united, is a useless leader!

Mr, Fun! Going from Gujarat to UP is going from bad to worse! Anyways, I dont know how much time u have spent in gujarat ( if u have!), but I have spent more than 25 years there, and all i can say is that any educated and aware citizen would realise what Modi has done to people's minds. Acc to me, he doesnt deserve to b the CM, infact noone with any kind of extremism in terms of religion shud b given such a position of authority. Anyways, Modi is not going to b the CM for long, we, the people of gujarat have finally awakened to his sly schemes! and I hope we will c a better and more secular future! All the best to u too! :)
These fat asses are very well paid.What is the prize money that the indian army gets when it is constantly guarding us against our enemies. Will these cricketers part with a some of this money for a noble cause.I wont be surprised if these idiots request tax exemption on this money.

if modi is not showing up some prize money for him...whats a big deal in this...coz afterall this all money goes from our pocket and these guys much from adds, BCCi and many more ...
yeah it is rite he shud appreciate once...but why cribbing on money yaar ...yet these guys are earning 80L for this match ..which is not low amt ...and just comapre the prize money give to hockey whenthey won the cup..1000rs for evey goal..shame on indian govt...1 crore for 6 sixex and 1000 for one goal and when hockey is national game ...
giving money to cricketers is al rubbisha nd i think indian govt shud think on it and shud utilize this money for welfare of society...
