This article has been written in a wrong sense. In a poverty torn country like India there is no sense of giving money to cricketers since they are already too affluent.Of course.a congratulatory message could have come from him.I support Mr.Modi in his act and congratulate him for being brave.

Well Done Mr.Rajendra.... Today Indian team is holding the Champions Trophy in hand just because of Irfan Pathan... Other wise what would have been the situation... All this celebrations would have been converted into morns otherwise....(If your Man enough then you will know ) You would had a shameful return from the final match... So, the only credit goes to Irfan Pathan for wining this match... Your Yovraj Singh was shivering infront of the Pakistan Bowling attack and M.S.Dhoni's charisma too was in vain.. Only Pathan gave you a win against other Pathans otherwise it's not your cup of tea to defeat Pakistan.

Good remark and sensible. But I trust Pathan brothers deserve monitory award. However You cant say how politics goes, if Modi doesnt declare, Maharastra and Haryana would would be quick to award them
As mentioned by all fellow readers, the author is unnecessarily trying to create a communal angle. Cricketers are picked to win every match they play ad they are paid just for that. Public money should not be wasted for a group of people who are doing what they are picked for. which is to win matches. It is just like asking for a bonus at your work place for completing the work one is supposed to do anyway.
Do not provoke anybody. Irrespective Modi is interested or not in giving anything to his state representatives for the World cup, you guys should be ashamed in publishing this news. You guys are creating a negative mindset from muslim point of view. We all know both the players repsentated from Gujrath are Muslims.
Ofcourse day by day Standard of journlism is falling down and this article of example of same.Always try to devide people on the basis of cast, realigon etc........Aportal like rediff should ignore such type of bad journlism.

For that, you need to be a CONGRESS ASS - LICKER. Only they can shout against COMMUNALism.
This entire article is rotten and written by a person who is probably in an inebriated condition; Without knowing what the person is blabbering. Firstly, its good that India has won the T20 World Cup, however, they have got what they deserved from BCCI; 3 Million USD is not a small amount. Its finally the BCCI that is going to be benefitted from this victory and of course the players because of their endorsements. If Modi has not announced any payments, then I believe he is doing the right thing. I dont know if the other CM's are paying the money from their pockets. As an honest tax payer, I dont want my money to be paid to the already super rich cricketers.
I urge Rediff to immediately withdraw this article as it is only an effort towards polarizing the society. The last statement is really derogatory. Rediff should be more careful in choosing writers and not let some jokers scribble on a site; You could lose a lot of hits if you tend to go the Indiatimes way, trying to create sensation.

Maaan! a rabid journalist underwent a diarhoea of words and you take a cue from it!
Miserable!
All other chief ministers chose to ignore the recent feats of the Indian football and Mens Hockey teams, but chose to announce a reward for the cricket guys for publicity alone.
Wait and watch if the reward actually reaches the parties!

our country is secular. Every one respect for everyone. When we are playing for country as Indian not as Hindu, Muslim or sikhs etc. Mr. Modi was not announce any prize, we can not identify that he is anti muslim. He is running the goverment where is many be busy with other hot issue fo the state.
Why don't the State Governments utilize the prize money in betterment of sports facilities in their respective states. India is a poor country. With the average Indian earning just about 20 to 30 thousand per month do we have to pay the cricketers lakhs and crores. Great that our Cricketers won, but are't we overdoing things a bit ?
