While we must appreciate Dhoni's captaincy, let us not forget that it is just the beginning. We only wish that he will not be overstepped by the board management in selection and other processes in building this team. Mind you if this happens then Dhoni would probably end up at the wrong side of the bed. Dhoni needs to be given his freedom in selecting the team he wants, the freedom to take his decisions on the field. And most importantly the board must invest in him in the long run. And not make it a few series affair. And even more an important thing that we as fans should not get over exited . By this we will only be putting in extra pressure on the Dhoni and the other players. At the end of the day, it is not easy standing in the middle and facing a leather ball at 140-150 kms.
did you all see the mockery Misbah made of our veryyyyy experienced bhajji???? he was hitting 6s out of fun and wherever he wanted..!! it was shameful .. bhajji almost let india down..
and thanks to Misbah for playing that ridiculus shot when he could have clearly taken pak to victory..
WE DIDNT WIN THE MATCH... PAKISTAN LOST IT FOR US..!!
RE:india..

Nitin Gupta, "We didn't win the match...Pakistan lost it for us" is one way of looking at it. We can also look at it this way that the match which we could have won hands down as 52 runs were required of 24 balls, it was Harbhajan Sing's stupid bowling which almost cost us the match. The Pakis were able to close the gap from 52 to 13 of 6 balls in no time. If this stupid Harbhajan had bowled normally without trying to bowl yorkers etc., and ended up bowling full tosses, the Pakis could not have scored that many runs. One can say that we won the match in spite of Harbhajan's stupidity. We were never going to loose the match. With the Pakis bringing in the Almighty at the drop of every other word, it was only a matter of time before the Almighty did it in for them!
I am an Indian Muslim and an ardent support of our national team. Yes, it is indeed a hard-fought victory. But, let's not forget that every indian's heart was pumping more oxigen until the time Misbah-ul-Haq opted to scoop and gave us victory. It was our day and it is our destiny that we won and I agree with you that Pakistan was never in the hunt after losing 7 wickets. But, let's also not foget that they were close to victory and anything would have been possible. If we won the match (despite Joginder's inexperience), because of our cricketing abilities, then, why did we lose the match in Sharjah final 1986 when Pakistan required 4 runs for the last ball and Chetan Sharma - trying to bowl a yorker, ended up bowling a full toss which was hit for a six. The loss of that match were behind our memories and which created low-confidence in every Indian cricketer's mind that we cannot win against Pakistan. Thank God that such jinx has come to an end. Hence, I would say that India did not win the match - destiny had its final say. Now, I expect yours' and Nitin Gupta's comments.

I am a Muslim woman married to a longtime Hindu boyfriend. We have two kids and we teach them the good things in both Islam and Hinduism. As a Muslim woman (though I have not converted to Hinduism, our children are Hindus), I feel we should change our mindset. Had the Muslims behaved the same way had a Muslim girl married a Hindu boy? As a Muslim woman I know, what kind of difficulties I had to face. Today, I am disowned by my own parents. Why do Muslims have different scales for same incidents? My parents were unable to find a single qualified groom for me. I come from an Ansari family, and most of the prospective grooms that my father thought of, were not so well educated. I just want to say that I love my Hindu husband, and the culture he carries with him. Good and bad are evry where, but as a Muslim I feel our religion needs reformation. We have too many fundamentalists in our faith.

Hi Haseena, Let me first congratulate you for being what you are.I won't praise you for the fact that u married a hindu or a muslim guy.I would praise u for the fact that irrelevant of your caste u r giving the country the best a woman can.By giving your children the best of values of both hinduism and islam,u r actually giving 2 bright and liberated citizens to the country.Kudos to that.People like you can make our country the current Indian cricket team, wherein muslims are all Irfan Pathan and hindus R.P. Singh, both taking 3 wickets each and making the country win the world cup of development. Congratulations once again.

Haseena and Santosh Jha:can you name just one thing which is good about 'slam? Just one good thing about it. I will be very happy to carry forward this debate if you can only come out with just one evidence of something which is good about it which is not to be found in other faiths. Just one. Only one.

Dear Busu, your question can be put vice-versa as well. All religions in essence teach good. It is us who infect our minds with poison. As I said earlier - "To each, his own!". A debate has no meaning because Haseena has put Humanism before other things. Do you have it in you to marry a girl from another religion and still let her be? It is a tough call gentleman. Easy to write words, very difficult to live through it. Better a better citizen and contribute positively to our society in your own way. with earnest best wishes, a fellow citizen.

Dear J busu, U got it wrong mate. I never appreciated Islam and just because I am an ardent Hindu I would not malign it either.I as a hindu have learned to respect all religions. As for your question "can you name just one thing which is good about 'islam?" Well I would not be able to answer u b'coz i haven't studied islam much and I am not very concerned either.b'coz for me Humanity scores way above any religion.By the way I praised Haseena for her contribution to the country by giving good values to two of country's citizens and if only 50 % of us go on to do this, take it from me, India will have an all inclusive development with a gdp of over 11%. with no offence meant, Santosh jha.

Mrs. Haseena I really appreciate your genuine feelings. We shd not get carried away with Religion. All religions teach good things only.Let religion not come into a peaceful human existance. Anything excessive is dangerous. I really agree with u that we shd change our mind set. Anyway good luck to you.

Nitin looks like a wolf in sheep's clothing. In other words, a Paki in Indian clothing. "Abbe yede, aaj tak Pakistan kabhi India ka bhala chaaha hai jo TT World Cup Final loose karega India ke liye ?"
Dhoni's achievement is amazing. He should be awarded Arjuna Award, the much coveted award for his contribution towards Cricket. He has boosted young players to win this world cup.
Why Do u only remember the 6's what Misbah played in the 19th or 20th Over.. C'mon Guys we should also remember the 9 wickets India had taken by the time we came in to the 20th Over. Where did we allow them to win..
If it was not for those 9 Wikets we would have definately lost the match.
PAKISTAN dint deserve the Cup, so they dint get it.They are just a bunch of over Confident Fools.

Good one Vinay,
I would like to inquire Sheuli about his/her background and if he has been able to achieve anything in life more than being able to talk nasty. It is only losers who frown react in such ridiculous manner. I can understand his grievances against Sharad Pawar etc. but what wrong has Dhoni done. He may ( i am not sure) belong to some backward tribal area, but has done his country proud. What about you sir!

Dhoni is certainly the right captain for Team India. Inorder to be a good captain the quality required above all is to get the team play like one cohesive unit. Indian cricket being faction ridden, in the past we have noticed how we have lost many matches by not playing like a close knit team. Selfish players such as Sunil Gavaskar used to spend more time on which matcch to play and how to fill the team with playeers from Maharashtra. The rivalry between Tendulkar and Ganguly is also not a secret. When senior players have rift betweeen them it is natural for the other team members to take sides and play for an individual and not a team. Dhoni comes from humble background. He is obviously keen on success as he doesnt have any vested interest. Having said that there is an inherent danger of indian media hyping the small successes of a player and eventually corrupting them ( we need to give Dhoni time to be consistent) . Even a level headed Dhoni can fall prey to the media hype. Media has a responsibility to be balanced in its praise and critisism. However our media be it TV or print subscribe to the extremes. Either they finsh the careeer of a promising player by overly critisising him or they shower praise on a player for his often inconsistent brilliance in the field. The board, media and the fans all are eually responsible for the making and breaking of Indian cricket team captain. hence it makes sense to give the player his space and look at success and failure objectively
