There is something called `destiny'. If Yuvraj has not powered 6 sixes in one over, England would have won the game. If Misbah have timed the ball, it would have gone over sreesanth's head. It is all destiny. One cannot change one's forehead, but ofcourse hard work always counts, but still destiny should also favour.
Rahul is such a hard worker. But look at him. Destiny never smiled. He had to always labour in Indian team.

True. But Rahul lacked courage and was always a defensive person whether it was on the ground or off the ground. He could never be a leader. If today, Rahul is even kicked out of Indian Team, not a single teammember is going to voice for him. And now, don't say because he doesn't involve in politics. What politics did Dhoni play? Nothing. He has the aggression and passion which is the trademark of a successful and popular captain.
South Indian Does not have Leadership Qualities, at least in Indian Cricket Team. Look at - Kapil Dev - world cup winner 1983. Sourav Ganguly - Runners Up in WC 2003 Mahendra Singh Dhoni- Winner of 1st T20 World Cup.
Rahul Dravid - Not qualified for Super Eight in 2007 WC.

What a fantastic observation. It seems that all good leaders in North India has gone to play Cricket allowing the country to slip into 18th century. Ther is more poverty in North India. They are less literate. While Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad are fast becoming focus of development, Mumbai is still known for the slums it has and the innumerable prostitutes, an underworld which breeds criminals everyday. There is more kidnappings in North India. Bihar is ruled by Gundaas. Please ask all those Big leaders in North India to stop playing cricket and lead their people who had been suffering for so long under the cruel and tyrannical landlords and spineless and corrupt idiotic politicians. Hello Mr. Kumar Kallyan, South Indians are not narrow-minded like you, thank God for that! Where did you dig out such an idea?!! You are a virus! JAY

Mr Kumar Kalyan, If south indians are not good leaders, it is because cricket is governed by some from Mumbai and north India. They won't allow south Indians to come up. They dominate the game.

India won only one match before the 1983 WC and that too against East Africa...and wht abt Azhar? hes also a South Indian...wasnt he one of the most successful Indian captains? you have a major Inferiority complex! you wanted to put down South Indians and you found yourself a useless opportunity!!!

It seems East Indian produces great and succesful captains :)
First it was Ganguly and now Dhoni .. Just kidding. I dont think it is fair to divide india in regions. For Ganguly dravid, Kumble, VVS played great games which helped his statistics. I want to remind you the Captain is not the only leader. some one can lead in other ways also.

I think all who have replied to the above observations of Mr Kumar Kalyan, have missed the important point - and are bringing in examples of Narayana Moorthy, Kalam etc. Kumar Kalyan's says "SIndian does not have leadership qualities, at least in Indian Cricket Team" repeat "Indian Cricket Team". Replies have brought in irrelelant issues.
So try to attack him on cricket rather than telling on all other fields, and about slums in Bombay, Goondaism, poverty, prostitution and totally nonsensical issues, which he has not at all talked about.
Well, to give another failed Indian South Indian Cricket captain is Venkat Raghavan. I challenge any of you to give an example of a successful south Indian Cricket captain - Azharuddin, or Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi - though played for Hyderabad may not be classified in the traditional South Indian class. They were quite successful - though may not have brought world cup. They should probably put under the N Indian class or at best central India.
To make my arguments stronger - may I say that I am a hard core south Indian Tamilian, and I do feel sorry that no south Indian has made a good cricket captain.
So what, is cricket is the only thing important in life. South Indians have been great Scientists and Educationalists. Above all - they are less haters of other religions (read specifically Muslims). Except for (let me not name them) some of the present day Tamil Nadu politicians, they are good human beings.

Gentle man, dont generalise things..and create hatred between fellow indians..rejoice the happy moments..
"We have not won, Pakistan has lost it" I really fed up seeing such comments. Cricket is a game. Anything can happen in the game. Miandad hit a sixer of the last ball. Does that mean Pakistan did not win, b'coz India lost it. WE WON THE MATCH CONVINCINGLY WITHOUT A DOUBT. I hope everybody agrees with me. No SHOULD agree with me

It is not like that..pak could have won the game if someone foolish captain would have given last over to Harbhjan singh but the captain has kept cool and given over to new comer which was also a risk but Risk is what Dhone takes and he won most of the times.

Suppose if Dhoni purchased it really even then, who is better? A tribal who knows the ways to win or a so called sophisticated metro person like you who ends up life sitting in an office cabin like any other 100 employees, winning no pride ofr the nation? if a poor tribal can arrange so much money for his country then really shame on you metro people who earn and pass life in AC rooms doing nothing for country. A tribal when goes richer than your kind of people then in fact you need to look into your collar first! So it's better for you to even become tribal if you cana chive something for the country bangali dada/dadi! hahahaha. Must be jealous for the eclipse Dhoni done over captaincy and career of Sourav bangali..hit for anothe six by Dhoni and his team!
