ABOUT YUVRAJs FATHER
by VISION24 on Sep 25, 2007 09:16 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Did u hear Yuvraj's father say about yuvi and captaincy. All his remarks were uncalled for in between such and important tournament. This failed actor and good for nothing except that he is yuvrajs father should stop from all this agenda. he will do nothing but create friction between dhoni and yuvi. Yuvi should talkto him and tell him to just SHUT UP- Did u see this man was so drunk that he could barely talk. This is the same guy who said unless Yuvi becomes captain - I will not watch India play-- What rubbish- What a man(Yuvi) But what a poor father

Yes its awful to give such a comment, who cares you dont want to watch the match, dont watch. You are the looser who cant share the joyful moments of your son.

A Dhoni well wisher.......!!!!
by Pushp Shah on Sep 25, 2007 08:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

As Dhoni's well wisher, I am worried about his batting form starting particularly from the Australia 20-20 match onwards. He seems to be going out of form with the bat. I hope its the captaincy is not eating into his great batting skills of late.......just as wat happened to Ganguly & then Dravid as captains.....????
Please concentrate on your batting too....its very very important. You are now India's capatain mainly because of your gr8 batting.....don't forget that, Mahendra !!?

Dhoni should be captain for his captaincy skills. Not for his batting. His batting is not that great, but he can bat sensibly as situation demands, which is a must for every player.Overall, he is a great character, and also, India bowled and fielded very well (which wouldn't have been possible with several older players in the team), which had been traditionally ignored by the Indian cricket framework.

Comon.. if he can inspire the whole team to perform the way they did in the past few matches... its ok if he doesnt perform with batting.. He is already doing wicket keeping and captaincy.. how many roles do you want him to take.... ? Quit worrying.. Good times are here for Indian Cricket... Lot many youngsters coming up and as tendulkar said yesterday.. INDIAN CRICKET IS IN SAFE HANDS NOW !

Wait...Wait...Lets see what happens when India bats second. India have 100% loss record while batting second in T20 and 100% win record while batting first.

This is only a coincidence. India chased targets successfully for continuous 16 or 17 matches in ODI. Correct your thinking.

Cool Captain

Sir,
No doubt Mahi has proved his mettle. We have to remember that the team he had were either younger than him or about around the same age as him (except agarkar). Now it is to be seen, how he manages the 3 seniors.Whether they listen to him or he will listen to them has to be seen. But hats off...Dhoni has really done well.Lets hope that under him,we gain consistency in winning more matches and topple Australia in all versions of the game....

One remarkable thing..Dhoni belongs to Jharkhand and this state has been given only 3 international births in cricket till now.Belong to the same state and know the talents there. It is high time when BCCI should look beyond state/regions while selecting team India.
Continuous presence of Agarakar shows that BCCI is heavily under pressure from old power centres within India.

I think agarkar is no more in tean for ODI. Pl. stop making fun of that poor fellow. (not in terms of money. He has got Rs. 10 lakh for nothing.)

20 win

Well done India and Dony camp. But Dony has done a mistake in sending Yuvi early. Instead if it is Rohit or himself, a righthander with Gambir, the position would have been better and their bowlers as well as filders will have adjust. As we won, this point went unnoticed. Yovi needs only 10 ball if it is pace but with spin, he always struggle. Dony will learn fast and adopt to the situation soon. Hats off and congraulations.

Very well spotted. I felt the same thing when i was watching yuvi struggle to score and when Malik brought 2 spinners at both ends. If yuvi had got in in the last 5 overs, Malik wouldn't have had the luxury of bowling 2 spinners and upset yuvi.
Anyway, what an exciting match we had. Hats off to the Indian team.

Performance by India while batting second is yet to be seen. We have batted second against Newzealand.

Remember, everyday Dhoni won't have toss luck.

Dear Lakshmi & Jayagopal,
Even if Yuvraj was not sent early, situation would have been the same!Pak captain knew Yuvi is a big hitter but his weakness is while playing Spin attack. He would not have introduced spinners so early in that case!
Anyway when you are playing finals these things happen!India has to develop a lot to become as ruthless as Australians!

All the credit to team india and young players. Though the expectation was not there and hence pressure was less than 50/50 world cup but still team india played like true champions and made it happen. I beleive if team will play with same spirit then definitely it'll come as favourites in all the tournaments.

Seems to be a good captain
by Ashfaqullah Khan on Sep 25, 2007 07:57 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The way, Dhoni led this young team to the pinnacle of the T-20 summit, We must admit the guy is one hell of a captain. It was very evident that he never lost hope even at the most crucial junctures and played it very coolly. He seems to be avery level headed and calm young man. He has answered all his critics, who admonished his elevation to the captaincy, by helping the young team win the inaugural T-20 world cup. Congrats Mahi. Keep it up.

yeah, he has to back it up with consistent performance. many, especially the big trio fans scoffed at his captancy with no record. there in lies the rub, other countries dont have decorated batsmen, they just have foot soldiers who have leadership qualities, ponting was nowhere near his explosive best before he was a captain, he's really flourished as a captain, and a really established player once he donned the mantle, he's coming close to sachin's number of centuries in test cricket! (he does have a great setup that helps him out, so his captaincy is not as stressful as an indian captains'). nevertheless, its funny that a ponting, a smith are respected by the countrymen at the choice of the selectors. in india, first the whole management are a bunch of buffons, namley the bcci bunch, the selectors are regionally biased, to the point of captains resigning in a huff. also, in india, there's no reason, nor any logic, fans are blind beyond thier respective heroes.
