BCCI wake up call for u you need only a team not stars to win. This win shows this, even you had no inkling this would happen.stop pandering to stars and select players. sunil menon
i started from my Churchgate office at 7 PM and caught 7.09 slow local. I was expecting to reach home by 8.30 and watch the last two overs of the match. I got down at dadar for fetching some vegetables and fruits. Enroute the score was 2 for 1 after 4 balls when I reached Charni Road. At dadar(below Tilak bridge) while I was purchasing some ginger, The shop keeper told me taht score is 14 for two. Still moving in the market, somebody in the snacks shop was opining that 157 is a very low score to defend. Reached fruits market. While buying apples, there is loud thumping from nearby store. fruit stall owner Banwari is telling me another wicket is down, I asked him, how you know. By hearing the thumping, he explained. Back to stn. caught a slow local. The gentleman near the door is too busy in his cell phone and I am finding it difficult to go inside because of my shopping bags. Any how he gave me some space to squeeze in while concluding his phone call and he told the score as 9 overs 65 runs doing a quick calculation regarding the reqd. run rate. Aftyer reaching bandra, happy to see a bus waiting. But no, it is not starting immediately. Bus started after 5 minutes and reached perry road by 8.20. On the road, boys were seen very upset and telling it is almost gone. Just while entering home, loud applause fro upper flat. Whats the matter, i change the channel to see Sreesanth taking a wicket in replay. Its great. Next Over I saw full. Nicely bowled by R. P. singh. But why he ha
I am very very thankful to the young Indian Team led by our local pride Mahi to offer us such a joyous moment in this monotonous life.Keep it up boys you can do it again.
great final.... great performances from both sides...great bowling and fielding.....great finish.... great captaincy.... we r the world champions..... well done team India...carry on....
Why people are celebrating./...some facts and statistics for all those emotional indians with a short lived memory
1. Cricketing members in the world=only 10 countries (out of which only 4 are from I st world)..also not recognised by the IOC (International olympics council)
2. India's ranking in one dayers (also tests)= 50th percentile or less
3. Number of Indian cricketes in the top 10 top list (both batsman and bowler)= only 1 (i.e. MS Dhoni)
4. Number of any major tournament won (involving 4 or more teams)= I dont remember...can anybody help me by tuning my memory....i can only rem the 1983 triumph
India played great cricket throughout the world cup.But we must not forget that we had lot of good luck on our side like getting first chance to bat in last 4 matches.Remember we lost to NZ when chasing. Also the final over in the finals could have gone anyway. We should not overreact.let us not place our boys on a high pedestal one day & bring them back to earth on another day.let us not put undue pressure on these guys.Let them enjoy their game.Only then will we get such results 3 cheers to INDIA!

VERY CORRECT "LUCKY" THIS HABIT OF OUR CONTRYMEN SPOILS OUR CRICKETERS. SEE WHAT THE SIMILAR ATTITUDE IS DOING IN PAKISTAN. CERTAINLY THE TEAM HAS DONE EXCELLENT JOB, AFTER PLAYING THE ENGLISH TOUR(SOME WERE THERE THROUGHT THAT SERIES, INCLUDING THE CAPTAIN). PEOPLE SHOULD STOP THE HABIT OF TAKING THE CRICKETERS ON THEIR HEAD, OTHERWISE, NEXT TIME, ON FAILURE OF THE CRICKETERS, THE SAME PEOPLE WILL BURN THEIR IMAGES, STONE HOUSE. TAKING CRICKET SO MADLY, IS ALSO CREATING THE BAD THINGS LIKE MATCH-FIXING. SO I APPEAL TO OUR COUNTRY-MEN TO STOP OVER-REACTING, ONLY NOT TO CRY OR GO BERSERK. WE ARE VERY MUCH VIOLENCE-PRONE.
