INDIA :T20 CHAMPIONS
by damodaran mohan on Sep 25, 2007 06:31 PM  Permalink

congrats team india for winning the cliffhanger. in fact both the teams played brilliant cricket. it was sad that one team had to lose and no wonder after all that hard work Shoaib Mallick was heart broken. but it is only a game and may be Pakistan will next time .our congratulations to Shahid Afridi for man of the tounament award. he fully deserves it and he set a good example of sportsmanship for others to follow. no wonder he is so popular in this country. Lee Iacoca , ex- Chrysler motors chief says, to be a worthy winner a sportsperson has to first learn to be a sporting loser. my congratulations and best wishes to both Indian and Pakistani players.

Well Done Guys !
by on Sep 25, 2007 06:29 PM  Permalink

Now that was a GREAT win guys ! Guess we kind of made up for letting ourselves down in the 50-50 World cup earlier this year, and did ourselves proud. Infact well done two South Asian teams, for having fumbled so badly & sadly in the earlier World cup. You guys did yourself a Huge favour this time. Lets stop idol worship and forget individual records. Guys just keep playing Good, well disciplined cricket and the rest will fall into place. They key is to keep a high morale and keep winning. Now party hard for a few days and get behind the Aussies and rip them apart. If we can beat them every single time, we'd be able to beat just about any other team. So go for the kill and don't let ourselves rest on our laurels. Thanks for an entertaining fortnight and you have always have our support ! Cheers

dont dance around

Young Indian team won the World Cup.
Congratulations to them.
But let us not keep them on our heads and make super heroes out of them.
Their feet must be firmly on the ground.
It is the habit of media to make good performers as super heroes, bombard them with advertisement offers and they lose their vision and commitment for cricket.
We have seen what happened to pathan and kaif earlier. The more higher we keep them, more heavier will be their fall, when we drop them.
So let us be discreet in appreciating their wonderful performance and stop with that.

Dhoni led a total team show
by Bill Chakravarti on Sep 25, 2007 06:15 PM  Permalink

MS Dhoni has shown that he has rapidly adapted to his role as India captain. India has always lacked a captain who works closely with all his team members and Dhoni is right up there with what proper captains like Steve Waugh, Ricky Ponting or Stephen Fleming in team management and smart thinking. This brought out the best of a whole of very gifted players. Irfan Pathan was resurrected, as was Harbhajan and Yuvraj, while Sreesanth, RP Singh, Gambhir developed confidence. Fantastic new talent was unearthed - most spectacularly in Rohit Sharma. This young man is desttined for big things and the world better watch out. He must be chosen for the Australian tour. On that note, finally, we have a cohesive team that can stare down the Aussies in their own backyard by playing smart cricket - provided it is led by MS Dhoni and seniors like Tendulkar, Ganguly, Dravid, Kumble etc show him total respect.
