Please remember the history
by Manu Prasad on Sep 25, 2007 03:15 AM  Permalink

India's is now ranked #3, right next to Aussie and English. The young dudes of today weren't there when the senior players worked hard to get the team there. We owe it to Kapil, Sachin, Ganguly and Dravid (others also) who helped India reach these heights. Please don't forget the past.
Its good to be proud of the youngins... but we're all the way here because of the seniors :) Just a thought!

ICC, New Format and the fixing
by on Sep 25, 2007 02:44 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

1.Guys ICC wanted 20-20 format to become popular and accepted by the people.
2. In which 2 countries peoples are crazy about the cricket and which are the two countries with biggest population (and hence biggest market for advertisements) among cricket playing countries: India nad Pakistan
3. Which match as a final has potential to draw largest crowd to watch it: India pakistan world cup final

And that happened. To make new format popular, this event was organised.

Have you observed most of the sponsers of the match were companies who sell product in India: biggest sponser was Reliance ADAG, then there were nokia etc.

Also, have you noticed league match between India nad Pak was drawn. And after that all 3 bowlers of pak could not his the 3 wicket stump(even gali ke bacche hit kar sakte he use). Ok, even if it was by mistake, mistake could be done by 1 not all 3. so, y all 3 missed it in bowl out. Because if only 1 player has missed it, that player would have been in serious trouble in pak. so all 3 missed it.

And even final was made exciting till the last bowl. Thats to show how 20-20 can generate such an excitement.

The tragedy of Indian Cricket
a. Bad performances harshly criticised.
b. Good performances attributed to external factors (match fixing)

why???
A million frustrated good for nothing fools who just sit in front of a computer and believe they can do a better job than the selection committee, captain and the team.Where as all they can do is discredit their own team..Anyways, what else can one expect from FOOLS...

1. wat abt six sixes by yuvi that won us the match ,how can u fix that???

2.tremendous hitting by yuvi vs aus how can anybody fix the way yuvi was hiting. It was because of his sheer ability.

3. Explain how we got gud yorkers in against aus in teh death overs?? even though u can fix the match u cannot expect the bowlers to bowl yorkers by fixing the match,

they are many instances like this

if u have sense ucan observe ,we showed lot of skill in all teh matches ,yorkers for rp,bajji, sixes from yuvi, direct hits by uttapa, rohit sharma, come on guys use some brains ..

what do u know idiot? fools like u r fit to watch only mickey mouse 20-20.

some of the great test innings from sachin on tracks abroad:

1. 119* to save India in Manchester in 1990
2. 111 in Wanderers against Donald and co in 1992
3. 148* in Sydney against Aus in 1992
4. 169 aginst Donald and Co in Cape Town in 1996.
5. 193 in Headingley against England in 2002
6. 241* against Aus in Sydney in 2004
7. 118 against England in bouncy Birmingham in 1996
8. 116 against Mcgrath and co in 1999 in Melbourne

Just a few of his great centuries abroad in Test cricket (real cricket) of the top of my head.

Let Dhoni achieve even half of this and we can start comparing him and the greatest of all Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar.

At present Dhoni is better than Tendlya . So he should be in . Tendlay was great. ... But he needs to go home and watch cricket. Waise bhi Tendlya also played the best in Asian grounds. He didnt play extremely well in Aus. I dont want to consider his past records. He can keep it with him. For me right now he is not worh to be in . He is old and lost touch .

2 dismissals of Pakistani batsmen
by raju on Sep 25, 2007 02:18 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Did any 1 catch the dismissals of Imran nazir and Misbah?

1. Imran Nazir was literally watching the ball strike the stumps instead of trying to dive and reach the crease.

2. Misbah's scoop was weird but it landed straight into the hands of deep fine leg who was not even standing close.

Something seems to be fishy regarding these two dismissals!!!!!

Rajuji,
It seems you didnot watch the match ball to ball.
1.Imran Nazir had got injured just 1-2balls before run out.He has asked for third runner also, but umpires denied.Third runner rules were bit harsh in this series.Even Sehwag decided not
to play because of these rules.
2.Misbah did the correct thing to scoop the ball as tension was high and he wanted to finish it off early. He however mistimed and was caught.

There was nothing Fishy!Be positive and sportive.

Keep things in context
by abhishek nair on Sep 25, 2007 02:17 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Can we keep this victory in context? It's just a game. Why is it everytime we beat Pakistan or another country, people on this board insult each other? Every issue has to be made into a Ganguly-Dravid issue, a North-South comparison, a Hindu-Muslim confrontation...I'm sick of this attitude. This is what holds us Indians back...our propensity to become emotional about the pettiest of issues.

We won a tournament. Great!

But that's it! We haven't figured out how to solve Kashmir. We haven't figured out how to feed, clothe and shelter millions of people. We haven't figured out how to clean up our politics.

Isn't it ironic that most of the very people who are cheering Dhoni and his team today are going to curse him and probably even threaten their families when push comes to shove and the Indian team makes the occasional slips?

What does that tell of us people? If the Indian cricket team isn't consistent, isn't that just as telling as the fact that Indian are not consistent.

Cricket champions play cricket religiously, but neither do they make it a religion nor do they need fanatic fans.

I agree with you that we are not consistent with our actions and attitude...but give me one example of any one person from the whole globe whose all the actions are consistent and who thinks all the same round the whole year with no change of plans......ya we are guilty of our actions when we curse our team when they perform badly....but its all about the emotions of Indian's attached with the game which cannot really now be controlled...such a craze for this game have been passed from our ancestors and we are following that...
Take an example of World Cup Football tournament...the whole world goes even more crazy during that period and its all emotions and respect for the game...and its same for cricket in India...
So lets respect everybodys emotions rather than writing blogs which always curses our own people....life is always living that particular moment... so lets enjoy this moment which has made Indian's proud of its nation!!!
