Think about the future guyz. We should remove the 3 oldies. They are not 100% fit.We have better than these old players. They should retire and give place for other players who are currenlty better than them . Tendlaya wants to increase his records , Gangua n dravid make more money Should be out of the team. This is not a Govt Job.
If they dont retire we should formally kick them out. We are looking for better India Team. So we should take new better players. Not to keep these oldies to make their records or more money.

Do you know the difference between Twenty20 and ODI and Test matches or is that you are a plain idiot who know nothing about cricket

correctly said, this is how the Indian cricketers keep their place cemented in the team: Score a 100 or 50, stay in the team for the next 50 to 100 matches.. if you win a good game.. then you are in the team for years... see the last game Tendulkar played exceptionally well was in Sharjah against Australia.. after that I haven't seen his great game

India has reached 5-6 finals in last 5years under Gangu, however Sachin ,the so called best cricketer has failed to make India win in any one of them; Hence ,just don't blame the seniors cricketers ... Gangu created a team ,after match fixing ,where he nurtured players like Yuvi, Pathan , Bhajji , Sehwag, Gambhir who have contributed greatly to Indias victory.Gangu is a Great cricketer Indeed!!! see too much of dirty BCCI politics

YOu stop blaming Sachin too. Why are you going to understand that only team performance can win matches.
Did not you see this 20/20 world cup and what Dhoni said.
Dhoni said very clearly he will not take credit for the victory. Its the whole team effort, not any individuals performance alone.
Only if we play like a team we can beat anyteam with anyone in the team
I was going through this rediff forum. Its heartening to see people njoyin the moment of victory. And why shudnt we be. Its indeed a proud moment for any Indian. But it pains when people comment on the stallwarts of Indian cricket: Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly. Cmon man, they have given a lot to the Indian team. Even more than any other Indian cricket players (barring Kapil Dev and a few others) in the past. How can we even point fingers at these guys. Just becoz India didnt win a world cup when they played. may be its their hard luck. there have been many great players England has produced but still they never won any major cup in cricket. that doesnt meant they are bad. SA has so many wonderful cricketrs, but still they cudnt lift the cup. So, plz dont point ur fingers at these stallwarts just becoz India won this torunament. I think we shud praise their decision of stayin out of this tournament so that youngsters can step in and see what these young guys have done. Besides 20-20 is entirely different from a 50-50. A Uthappa can stay for 5 overs in a 20-20 match and turn the game, but its not possible in a 50 over match. I hope u guys who keep commenting know this fact. Infact instead of pointing fingers at the 3 old guns, i think we should be happy that we have found players in this tournmanet who can slowly be a full time part of the team in future. Rohit sharma in particular. So, chill out guys. Hail Team India and lets keep njoyin this moment.

Very well said, Aravind. This is the first rational and balanced message I have seen on rediff discussion forum in a long time. This forum is otherwise populated with characters who are completely illiterate, clueless and maniacal...

Arvind, very well said ! I agree we have young guns but still 50 overs game is more of temperament and our 3 seniors have proved themselves all the time. Lets celebrate India's victory guys ! Chill for while before we crash Aussies/Pakis ;).

stupid .all those record that sachin saurav and rahul have with them did't came overnight.and its not that they are not performing. IF somebody aggress to me...then according to me whenever sachin comes and bats and leaves the ground, crowd should give him a standing ovation...kapil lifted the standard but it was sachin saurav and rahul performance from where cricket got a new meaning....bahut aaye bahut chale gaye but none in cricket faterning was able to match the consistency sachin or rahul has done.......

I second these thoughts. Hail rationality and peace. Hail India.
CONGRATULATION TEAM INIA ON THE WINING ON 20 -20 WORLD CUP FINEL & MAKE NATION PROUD.
But is it all enough to say good buy seniors? NO!
We all know it, it a cycle process, one come grow, fed away, next come. right!
Just think Son stood first in the examination, Dose it mean he should occupy the seat of his father. Father do stapes down the moment he found his next is competent enough.
Our great trio stay out from TT was an opportunity for all their next to prove the have grown up for TT.
Now the junior must given more opening on 50 over & 5 days (a s a p) cricket and once they prove they can handel the situation, no senior would be denied to stapes down.
As, as a father, one can not see his family is in trouble, thus like as a senior no cricketer would like to see their country down.
i read an article in rediff couple of days before by two old australian jerks that indians are scared bunch of something....when they come across australian fast bowling....this victory is reply for them....u rodney get lost
It is a high time to retire some of the senior players like Ajit Agarkar, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulukar and Sehwag. No offense...these big players (except Agarkar) has given a lot of fame to Indian cricket but they should step aside now and give way to the youngsters.
RE:Senior Players
by raju on Sep 25, 2007 01:55 AM Permalink
Agarkar won the only match for India in Australia against world champions in Adelaide in 2003. That equals a world cup win.
Those who feel offended by comments on the Big 3 should try to realize that even the best in the business cannot survive against India and Pakistan in group matches because both the Pakis and We have young team were everyone wanted to prove himself in the very match itself.
One of the best examples was Indian Hockey where Pargat Singh and Dhanraj Pillai played till the age of 38 and 40. See the change even in the Indian Hockey team all are young guys and have won 3 tournaments. Same is the case with Indian Football.
Remove Politics, Remove Emotions, Remove Zonal System doing this we might atleast see our sport person giving a good fight to opponents loosing and winning is part of game. In a game only one can win and a fighting loss is no less the a win
Not sure if Tendulkar is sad or happy. I tnik he is sad. He may think he should had played and he could have been the highest scorer. Tendlya plays only for records.

i think he is sad..mind you he not playing for records..this is not good..wen no one was there you needed sachin but today u people speak lik this this is disgusting...he only told he wished to have as 12 th man...but again politics by bcci ..tendlya was forcebly put out
RE:Tendulkar sad or happy?

Test match format is definitely going to die. Tendlya will be happy with his records since he has scored the highest score.
He doent play on crunch macthes or finals. But he plays well when he is in 80's or 90's to complete his century. he has never won a major cup for us
RE:Tendulkar sad or happy?
by bharath kumar on Sep 25, 2007 02:02 AM Permalink
i think you guys know about cricket ....and should realise that its a team game not an individual...its nothing to do with sachin...name any player from 1995 to 2005 with his calibre apart from ganguly and dravid...who could have given him support to win a cup.....just take it lightly.... if one man could win you world cup then what for gilchrist, hayden, pointing and their bowlers for..he tried his best to atleat put a decent total in the board with his innings...
you know how many times he got out in 90's..if he realy want to score 100's he would have took some time and score the remaing runs against england.... just enjoy with the new world cup...from our youngsters who also deserve it...

Thank God it did not happen. Or else his Jinx is that we would not have made it to the Super 8 even. Let him enjoy the millions he had made and spend the rest of his life peacefully and retire.
Thanks for all these years Tendulkar. We got to move on you know. And what a perfect time for the Indian Cricket to move on other than now.
Can you believe it guys???? In our lifetime, we have have been lucky enough to see ,a major achievement in a sport, that too in cricket!!!!!!!! Well done Team India, keep it up!!!!

Now if you start seeing one-day format of game u will bored. Even in its birth place England people have lost interest in it.It has fallen to 5th spot in the list of popular games. Now we have look for Twenty20 future and make enhancements to this form of game.
We should stop the boring test match format offcourse. Also One Day .
Twenty20 is the future. Have fun and enjoi every bit.
RE:Twenty20 the future.

If you think that by shortening the game it would be become more interesting then what would you do after 4-5 years when everyone gets bored of even T20. Will you have - 10 overs per side game? T20 is good masala for entertainment only and it should be the 3rd format after Tests and One dayers, otherwise cricket will become like a baseball. So all 3 formats can exist but make Tests and One dayers more interesting for the spectators.
