Dhoni's batting average against South Africa, Australia and New Zealand is not impressive.
We know that Dhoni is not a great wicket-keeper and is in the team only for his batting abilities. Besides, they should look at another set of statistics for the catches taken/dropped, stumpings made/missed, byes given, diving stops made/missed, and, runnouts made/missed. Bonus points should be given for special efforts in fielding. Similarly, points should be docked for poor efforts in the field.

You are very right infact add his poor performance overseas. He is Home Tiger and this is almost proven.
They announced the new captain and also announced the india team, I don't know if they have ask new captain to select the team . This is india cricket . Captain are not allowed to select the team.
Why Ramesh Powar is in the team , remove him also and bring Shewag he is much better player , he is even not seen in India A team too . This is truly india cricket politics. Hat up to BCCI. "Future of Indian Cricket is in Dark"

Don't worry boss...what more we can loose....we already got kicked out in first round in world cup. It can't go worse than that.
BTW, Dhoni is a poor choice. He is a better choice for vice-captain. I don't see any mature head in the cricket team after the big 3. They should have given it Ganguly itself.
He is form Afridi School of cricket. These type of cricketers do not have fundamental knowledge or technique to play the game. They go by muscle power. They play a good innings once in a while. In fact their good innings are few and far between. Captains should set example by the skill and dedication. They must succeed when others fail in an innings. This just shows the sorry state of Indian cricket.

You are Very Right. The best captian is Yuvraj. Keep praying and God will here and do the justice.
Nobody really knows whats happenning with Indian cricket. Vengsarkar has made a historic decision. But like other historically stupid decisions, this one seems the same.
Once upon a time there used to be number of Ex-Captains in Pakistan team. We all are aware of the history and records the Pakistani cricket team had during this time period.
It is and it will be wrong to blame Ex-captain(s)for failure of current captain and team. Understanding the human psychology, one shall imagine how hard it is for new capatain like Dhoni or else to stamp his authority and implement his ideas in presence of senior guys. And if this happens it will be totally unfair to blame seniors. Dhoni has to overcome himself and his mindsets and it is not always easy for every one.
If Dhoni fails and resigns, whom will we blaim? Senior guys for non cooperation? At least Dravid and Sachin are well known for their gentlemanly behaviour in world cricket. Let us hope that this is only hypothetical assumptions. For Indian cricket this should not even be the last thing to happen. Best wishes to Dhoni and Team India. Let us not provide evil minded Greig Chappell and other so-called money hungry ICL administrators and critics an opportunity to spell/speak his/their dubious illintended misconceptions about respected Indian Senior players who have unquestionably contribted to Indian cricket.

no bring back bharat arun, world's most [potentially lethal bowler from amdras who never got to platy for india more than 1 match because of bombay politics. also TA sekhar what a world class fast bowler.

Man...Bharat Arun was a wonderful fast bowler, but he could barely run with his girth...TA Sekhar had a great debut day, but never matched that performance ever....but he is associated with a noble cause like MRF and should be remembered for that.

I agree with your statement. It may be difficult for BCCI to handle a strong, honest and aggressive person like Sourav. We all know that Sourav is the most deserving candidate for the captaincy.

BCCI is looking for good captain, not for a good batsman! U should be aware of that first. Shut up your mouth!

Are you insane you mean to say Sourav is not a good batsman - please check ur facts in 2007 Ganguly is the 2nd highest rungetter in ODIs after Hayden ( by a few runs only) that to playing lesser matches than Hayden - please check ur facts before commenting!
I think BCCI's decision has been made more from Heart! I don't think it is a professional decision. Any way, we are at the mercy of BCCI. Let's wish good luct to Dhoni and Team India.
