Grooming a youngster for leadership doesn't exisit in India
by vaibhav kumar on Sep 18, 2007 04:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In any sphere or walk of life, grooming a youngster for leadership does not exisit in our mindset and social set up.

Let us talk about cricket. I have never seen (Sachin, Saurav, Dravid) taking feedbacks or involving vice-captain while they are on grounds, clearly tells that its the personality which works in India.

Mostly vice captain are fielded as sweeper cover or long on or long off. That's the pity. The insecurity cover in our mindset in general has lend us the situation where we have to directly put Dhoni under fire. He may succeed and best wishes for him. But the flip side of this is that he can be yet another Sehwag in the making.

We do not groom youngsters for potential leaders. This is a mindset defect. Otherwise, Dhoni could have been groomed with someone like Saurav/Sachin could have taken the lead and passed the batton over a period of few months.

I would have called that as playing for each other, rather than Dravid hopelessly supporting out of form and mentally unsettled Sehwag for months and setting an example of playing for each other.

Hi during tea breaks during matches, i have seen the involvement of the top 3 and discussions among the top 3. Its unfair to state that people take their own decisions. Each of the Top 3 Sachin Sourav & Dravid have immensely wanted to contribute to Indian cricket. Winning is in their blood. So why spoil the national sentiments

Everybody coments only after things happen... this is INDIA.

Why didnt anybody coment when the selectors were selected????

Isn't this the question we should have asked ourselves before writng these coments.

Come on ... say the truth. Dont just smile. after reading this.

ya...i agree dude....they should adopt a policy similar to ICL, showing the selection process live on TV....otherwise all selectors should resign....its a pity we, the paying public, can't do a thing about what we feel for the most....i feel helpless on this...

Dhoni is not consistent..
by abhinandan s on Sep 18, 2007 04:02 PM  Permalink

I dont find Dhoni as a good option..

May be selectors can pursuade Ganguly. If they wanna inject fresh blood, even then Yuvi is a better option.

Dhony's DOOM
by zainul abedin sayed on Sep 18, 2007 04:02 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mahendra Singh Dhoni's dooms day is not very far away. This young lad is going to see bad days
at tender age. Before taking over the job of captain Dhoni should have peeped into the very near past. What happened to Dada,Sachin,Dravid , Sehwag. The boy is innocent and a good player unaware of the dirty politics of BCCI officials
and selectors. Now Sachin should say a BIG NO to test captaincy or he will have to retire in bad shape.pzH5E

selection based on politics
by Priyabrat Mishra on Sep 18, 2007 03:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

on what basis they picked up dhoni as captain is shocking!!! neither has he performed nor shown good leadership skills... a few months ago, his place in team itself was under threat from dinesh karthik, now he's Mr. Capt. of India!! now we'll have 2 keepers in a team without a coach, and openers will bat at the tail....and who knows what next BCCI will come up with? maybe sharad pawar as the new (long cherished) allrounder for india!! Lagey Raho BCCI.....this is the best way to deconsruct team india....from no.2 to no.7....SHAME on Mr.Pawar!!

Why ganguly, let yungsters come to top
by Saniya on Sep 18, 2007 03:58 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

So many letters asking for Ganguly as captain. But his age is to be cosidered. Let yung players come to top.The seniors can give adwice if they really want team india to go ahead.
