I see a lot of messages where Sachin's and Saurav's name called for captain position. We need to look on a long term basis. Ganguly cant be captain for more than 1.5-2 years. He and Sachin wont be playing next WC, most prob. So they chose Dhoni, just as SA chose Smith.

Yes vivek.. When smith was selected, there was a similar outcry.. and see now where he has taken South Africa.. Dhoni's selection is the best thing BCCI has taken in a long while..

Dhoni can only play on sub continent wickets he is completely useless on fast, bouncy, swinging wickets! We have seen him playing recently..Now BCCI has made his position permanent in TEAM INDIA as he is captain! Its getting worst from bad!

I agree. I'm not saying that Dhoni is the best person to captain India. Whoever they chose, dont chose the aging masters. THey are good, one of the best in the world, but old. THey had only limited options. Sehwag is not sure in the team, Kaif has gone. Now only Dhoni and Yuvi remains. I dont know why they chose Dhoni.

bullshit. YOU are biased, not others. i dint see even a single person comment saying he's unwanted cos he's of any particular caste, no indication whatesoever. people only objected to him because he's not been tested enough, and he's been failing with bat a few times.
i support dhoni not because he's of any particular caste, i suport him because i see that he's got talent. period. why start another debate in a much fragmented forum already ?

Ashik, dont get hot, Blaster never said against about caste here.He just replied to some others in this forum who bought caste into this forum.u can check those message in forum as well.

Ab Dhoni kuchh nahi kar payega. Guys it is obvious agar aap ek achhe player ko captain bana dete hain to woh perform karna band kar deta hai. Agar aap ko kisi achhe player ko barbaad karna hai to usse captain bana den.

Tamasha dekho, Dhoni ko bahar nikane hai use mumbai wale se replace karana hai. Agar Doni successful captain ban bhi gaya tab bhi gru greg ki salah per Gaguly wala haal karenge.
Sreesanth the new agarkar 2006-2016. Others like pathan will have to keep proving themeselves while he like agarkar will be a constant selection for the next ten years.
It is only 3 years that Dhoni has spent in international cricket and he lacks the experience to lead the team. When players like Sachin and Dravid say that the pressure of captaincy is so much that their indidual performance is affected, we are very much doubtful about Dhoni doing justice to the job. Ganguly has proven to be a succesful captaina and i wonder how the selectors could have missed him?.
