Agarkar shoud be made Indian Captain
by Ravi Kulkarni on Sep 18, 2007 09:05 PM  Permalink

Agarkar should have been made the captain of Indian team, both one day and test. He has the right experience to spin off victories. Dhoni is too young to handle the responsibility

How about having a series between Team India and India 'A'?
by Juzer H on Sep 18, 2007 09:01 PM  Permalink

BCCI should arrange a one day International and 5-day match series between the above 2 teams. One having legends, another having youth. Let's see who wins!

Why no agarkar?
by prakash k on Sep 18, 2007 09:01 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am very surprised Agarkar has been left out of the team? I think after kapil dev its agarkar who has been the saviour of Indian bowling. I would rate him higher than Anil kumble. He has been amazing, won maybe a 100 games for India single handedly. He has sheer class and see what they do..leave them out. Even in the T20 worldcup he is the only indian who is performing. Wake up BCCI. Bring back the Glenn McGrath of Indian cricket to the team

i think this guy hasnt seen cricket for some years, cricket in not played on past recrods but on current form, and agarkar is currently in very poor form, after all these years of experience in indian cricket, and so many chances given to him, he should have improved.

just forget him. I believe, he is never a international level cricketer. nothing he has. neither a size to fear the batsman, nor the pace to destroy the opponent. he never adds to the team but if he is in the team, it subtracts one player from the playing eleven

huh? forgot about his 6-fer against australia at adelaide in 2003 when he became the first bowler after kapil dev to win a match for india against aus in aus? do u know he has the best ODI record for an Indian bowler against champion team Australia? i think people like u should first start following cricket properly before giving out your comments. Don't miususe rediff forum to voice your biases.

Mr Raju, That was 4 years ago and flash in the pan. Sehwag also scored 309 against Pak in 2004-05 he is out of the team because his recent performances have not been upto the mark. What has Agarkar done in the recent past? Being a passenger in the team. In fact India lost a few games due to poor bowling from Agarkar, giving away 6-7 runs per over in one dayers and over 14 runs per over in T20. The less said about his batting (or lack of) the better. He is the most over rated bowler in Indian cricket without delivering when it is needed most. In the slog overs when he is supposed to restrict the scoring rate he is belted by the batsmen all over. It is better to get rid of this guy, hope he is never selected again.

Guess you are a relative of Agarkar or his in-laws? Other than a good show in one test match in the last series to australia under Saurav's captaincy, do not recollect Agarkar having displayed any skills. The Bombay club is responsible for his inclusion - a dead meat best left in Mumbai byelanes

u r an a**hole and a detriment to indian society. u just made this message up so that people would insult agarkar more. first try to play gully cricket and if at all u get a chance(which i am sure u won't) play district level cricket to see how difficult it is to bowl at 135-140 kph in pressure cooker international matches???? get lost from this forum as u r just interested in dividing people.

Friends I think we misread Prakash's mail. His real intent is shown in the comment " McGrath of Indian team", rating him higher than Kumble, next only to Kapil, etc.
Everyone knows that the Bombay club is behind Agarkar's successful stay (not successful performance) in the team. So enjoy the humour!

hello MK,

I think ur concept is wrong. u just cant throw any one into water to learn swimming. Even at ur job, no body will give a higher position directly. U need to know many aspects and it will be possible when u wrk under experienced personalities. Don't throw any one into water 2 learn swimming

I disagree with you. It is a known fact that you learn to swim only when you are thrown into the water. Till how long can we depend on Ganguly & Tendulkar for leading the team. Dhoni will also get some experience leading against strong teams like Aus & Pak. Look Forward Buddy.

Stupidity
by Nilesh Jain on Sep 18, 2007 08:51 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What a stupid decision in the history of Indian cricket. 3 world class captains will play under a captain who is struggling with his own individual performance and having negligible experience of captainship. Also it looks more stupid when we are going to play the series against number one cricket team of the world who has won 3 world cups in row. This is one of a sad joke where we can%u2019t even laugh, because after all %u201Cit%u2019s our team and our nation%u201D!

Dravid was a 'darpok' captain which shoowed in his decision to not give follow on to England. he was afraid of losing to Pak and Aussies so thought it better to keep his RECORD intact by running away while it was good !

When Indira Gandhi Died.. India thought- That its doomed.. who will run the country!! Is it running till now or not ?

Dont think about Dada or anyone in Cricket .. because Its BCCI's Own decision. Though we live in a democracy, the meek Indian people cant start a revolution to change anything.. Has Mandal commission stopped? Has Casteicism stopped? Has regional hatred stopped?

Forget and enjoy Cricket - let it be Win Or Loss.. We dont have to do anything ... Just sit in fromt of the TV with Popcorns and enjoy !!!

even now we should be worried over so many things. Terrorists can strike India anywhere without any worry and we cannot prevent it. Nuclear deal is collapsing because of opposition by a stupid party.
