OFF THE TRACK
by Special on Sep 17, 2007 02:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its good that ICL kinda agencies are coming up. But there should be a street cricket team to come ahead and being sponsored to play against rather CHALLANGE the Indian Cricket Team. We will come to know that KAUN KITNE PAANI MEIN HAI. Like happens with the Women hockey time in CDI when they tie against Men Hockey team.

Looking forward - Get out your calculators

2 matches down 4 to go. Let's look at the options available as we always do and hope for a miracle to happen

Best option -
Ind, NZL win their remaining matches

Option 2 -
Ind, SA win remaining matches and Eng beat NZL

Additional tasks -
1. Remove Agarrkar & include Yousuf
2. change the batting order based on the situation.
3. Use bowling resources tactfully, especially during the death spells . Key bowler's like Irfan need to complete, rather than giving to part-timer's like Yuvraj.

Remove Kaarthik and put Rohit Sharma in. We dont know whether he is a bowler or batsman or both. He was known to be very good fielder atleast better than Kaarthik. It looks like he remains in bench for ever try him. If he scores 10 or 20 or fields well or takes good catches it is good for his future. He looks very young. Better to try him in place of Kaarthik.

Yes I am with you Sai, Need the try Rohit Sharma for Kartik. Despite the team is new it is facing same tradition Indian problem- as it happens in tests Yuvraj has grown old sitting out for the senior lots depite being good.

The problem is India do not have another fast bowler if they remove Agarkar (Bombay), thats how Vengsarkar (Bombay) selected the players. Yousuf is a spinner and we don't know how good he spins the ball. Even Rohit is also a spinner, not fast bowler. May be we should give a chance to Jogindar Sharma (Right Arm Fast Medium) to fill in. I dont know if they are part of this 20-20.

Yuvraj failed in last couple of opportunities as a batsman, though he fielded pretty good. Does he need to sit out for a couple of matches?

It's all a gamble in 20-20. I feel we should give chance to youngsters and balance team with experience and fresh talents. Then we have low expectations and results might be good.

Agree fully...replace Agarkar(send him home....best option)with Yusuf Pathan, replace Karthik with Rohit, Uthappa must come in at No.3, Rohit at 4(at least try him out),Yuvraj at 5, Dhoni at 6 followed by Irfan, Yusuf, Spinners, etc.
This game NEEDS all-rounders only. Period!!

Dhoni is responsible
by saif ahmad on Sep 17, 2007 02:31 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why has Dhoni started playing like gavaskar in twenty twenty matches...his slowing down the run rate and asking others to hit resulted in indias loss...he takes a run after 2 balls and expects the other person to hit a boundary...why is Mr. Dhoni playing 20-20 as if they are test matches?

Definately..this attitude of Dhoni is costing dearly...may be he is eyeing Indian Fulltime captaincy in future and by playing slowly he's trying to impress selectors that hs can play a anchor role in Indian inning.
