Poor Dhoni--watch it--the houndsa re after you--imagine your plight--one loss and you have to face the barrage of criticism--wait till those commie channels like NDTV,Times Now get after you.
The other most misleading word seems to be "aggressive"--whatever it means--either remove your shirt or ensure that you throw out agarkar--it will keep your critics silent for a day

To
Agarkar Sir,
Tail of Pawar
Pride of Marathis
Mumbai 400083, BCCI

Sub : This is in reference to your consistency.

Dear Ajit Sir,
It is my privelage to even write this letter to a great person like you. How you does it again and again? In the last 12 years, you performance remain so consistent. It shows the transparancy in BCCI functioning that in these 12 years since you got selected, BCCI still haven't got any bowler as better or as great as you. It is righ time to enter your name in Genuis book of world record for being so consistent with your messing up everytime. Also anstonishing is world has moved so forward, but your pathetic bowling and your undernourished health remains the same.

dhoni made a mistake by giving third consecutive over to yuvraj which cost us 25 runs. He should use the bowlers clevery. On the Other hand vettori made smart moves in bowling and fielding according to the batsmen weakness and strength. He made another mistake by promoting himself and playing not like true dhoni. I blame dhone for not capturing splendid work done by our bowlers till 15th over and our openers scoring 80 runs of first six overs. Sorry Dhoni is not fit for the captain.

I would say, Dhoni was outplayed bt Vettori, but he has the potential to be a reasonable leader. He need to be retrospective and very fast, adapative and flexible in being hismelf.

The best way, could be that he should allow Karthik to keep wickets and develop himself as an all rounder (with his batting/fielding/ bowling), then he can better marshall his resources and plan/strategize in a better way.

Being an Indian and the type of genetic make up we have, I do not anticipate, Dhoni or anyone else in the current team, to be a shrewed tactician, but then he can be open-minded and at least be proactive and innovative at times.

Dravid, remember, was a faliure of being too orthodox, conventional and timid in his approach. Otherwise, we would have won so many matches that we either lost or drawn.

DHONI SHOULD NOT ACT OR GET INFLUENCED BY STALE APPROACHES OF HIS PREDECESSORS. HE REPRESENT GENERATION NEXT AND SHOULD BE LIKE THAT.

I STILL DO NOT KNOW WHY YUVRAJ LOST OUT IN THE RACE. PROBABLY HE DID NOT LEAD BY EXAMPLE ON OR OFF THE FIELD.

cheers

Vettori has more experience than Dhoni. He is a seasoned campigner. Dhoni will also learn through experience.

I absolutely feel that every captain should be given the option of changing the bowler after every ball has been bowled. Thus he should be able to use upto six bowlers every over. Of course, each ball can be hit for a six. Also, the bowler cannot be changed after a no or wide ball!! Hmm, I like the idea better and better. The captain then can safely escape all attack about his lack of tactics and explain that he did his best, what more can he do that use six bowlers per over, but still, no go.

ours players performance
by partha maji on Sep 17, 2007 05:15 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

sehwag:he can destroy any bowling,he can destroy himself even, the shot he got out,he can play it anywhere, but he played it straight to the man.
gambhir:he does not have the power to hit the ball out of the ground.most of his runs came through outside edge, over keeper,...
uthappa:he seems to be suitable for 20-20game.but balls whichr going away from him....he definitely faces problems...
yuvraj:whenever he is given the bowling.he do it well for 1-2 overs, then when captain rely on him for next overs,he is going to make blunder...he is definitely going to click in batting.
dhoni:he is still in the 50-50 format.it is very tough for him to be successful in 20-20version.
kartik:even if he plays a stroke with finest timing and full power he will not be clean the rope.not at all suitable for 20-20.
pathan:whenever he came down the track he is at his best,if he tries to defend and play a backfoot drive,he is at his worse...
others players do not any explanation.only god knows when they will contribute to the team's total......

DEAR DHONI, PLAY 20-20
by vaibhav kumar on Sep 17, 2007 04:40 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Surpirsed to see, Dhoni playing a sheet anchor role in game against Newzealand.

There something very terrible with his MINDSET knowadyas. The same attitude was seen with England ondayers and surprisingly, he continued it in 20-20 cricket. This format (20-20) is not made for sheet anchor role specially when you are chasing a mammoth total of 191 (as per indian standards).

We lost the game when Dhoni contended himself with 1 ball 1 run. Had been some hitting by him, the others would have rallied around him.
Very unfortunately, Dhioni was rallying around others to build up his inings.

20-20 is not about playing sheet anchor, its about hitting one hard hit (AT LEAST) one over and then rotate, if needed. That never came in the middle overs, Dhoni keep on playing sheet anchor creating pressure on the other hand, and we lost it.

I beg to differ from Dhoni that bowlers let him down. I think both are equally responsible. Our bowlers are never been good at death. Agarkar (MOST MINDLESS CRICKETER YOU WILL EVER SEE), Sreesanth (MORE IN TANTRUM AND MEDIA HYPE THAN IN DELIVERABLES) and Yuvraj (SHORT IN COFIDENCE BOTH IN BOWLING AND BATTING) were not good enough. Irfan would been still better with his lack of pace. Similarly, KARTHIK is not made for 20-20.

And at last, surprised to see others warming benches. Drop, Sreesanth, Agarkar and Karthik, and bring in Yusuf, Rohit and Joginder.

Remaining matches at Durban, in the evening, with ball siming around, still if Ind

DHONI IS DESTROYING HIS TALENT & POWER. DINESH KARTIK CAN NEVER HIT A SIX AS HE LACKS ABILITY & POWER.
THE TEAM BATTING MUST BE AS GIVEN BELOW & IN THE ORDER GIVEN:
SAHWAG
GAMBHIR
YUVRAJ
ROHIT SHARMA
UTHAPPA
DHONI
IRPHAN PATHAN
YUSUF PATHAN
HARBHAJAN
R P SINGH
JOGINDER

dear rajesh kumar u had mentioned about excellant team combination. But in the middle of tournament u cant expect many changes. Hence, the team combination could be (with batting order) like :

Sehwag
Karthik
Gambhir
Uthapa
Yuvraj
Joginder Sharma
Dhoni
Irfan
Yusuf Pathan
Harbhajan
R.P Singh

Since Dhoni is not in form he should bat at lower down the order. Still i insist for karthik becoz he is good batsmen with storng mindset. If he will open the innings he can atleast keep his strike rate at 100.00 and rotate the strike for hitters.

20-20 is team work directed by captain. Our captain thinks it is one man game and himself. We scored 80 runs in first six overs and in next six over we scored hadly 30 runs. Sorry Dhoni is not fit for captain.

Agarkar is always the scapegoat
by Judson Daniel on Sep 17, 2007 04:31 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

They always tag Agarkar with "Inconsistency", then who else is consistent in the Indian team. Zaheer had to stay away for a year from International Cricket to get his rhythm and focus back, Pathan had to do the same thing, Munaf has many questions to be answered, Sreesanth has many things to control apart from his line and length... and where are Balaji and Nehra???? Why is it always Agarkar that gets the blame? An inconsistent man cannot be the 11th Alltime leading wicket-takers in ODI..
The world will always be blind to Ajit...

Agarkar doesn't fit in the current india team, agreed that he's taken fastest 50 wkts, scored fastest 50 runs for india in odi, has over 250wkts in odi, but he's been playing for around 9yrs and still is not a match winner neither is he a senior bowler (i hear commentators says this youngster) wat a joke! he consistently concedes 6.5 runs per over in odi and still we see him in the next match at the cost of young talent like RP SINGH. Now he's again picked for twenty20 for no obvious reasons. I hope he's dropped for next match.

Guys, I accept all your comments. he's not been in form recently. but he was our best bowler during the last West indies series and also was good when they toured India....

The reason is the way he is treated. When Pathan is around, he comes as Ist change and when he is not, he opens. but he still has got 288 wickets in 191 matches. It's tru that he was dropped the most number of times, but he has also made the most number of comebacks in the game, that definitely shows his passion to play for India and his perseverance.

Agarkar is most gifted but at the same time, most mindless and brainless cricketer India has ever produced.

Kids grow in to boys, they beome man and rule the world. Agarkar remained kid with the way he executed his skills both with bat and ball. He never could make himself the senior, wise, dependable and shrewed customer.

Instead, he keep on creating the same mistkaes in his approach over and over again. He could never deliver, when team needed the most from its experienced pro.

I agree, he is not the only one, but one of the most mindless, brainless, and worst investment of Indian cricket.

I beg to differ with your views, but this is what he is, a totally wasteful potential.

Yeah, "the most mindless, brainless, and worst investment of Indian cricket" has actually helped India level the series against Australia, has scored a century at Lords, has scored the fastest 50 for India, is the fastest to 50 wickets in ODI and is the 11th leading wicket taker in ODIs with a tally of 288...

why wouldn't you say he is the the most mindless, brainless, and worst investment of Indian cricket?????

4 instances out of more than 300 opportunities (ODI and test) sums up the story.

The bowler who does not know where he would be pitching the next ball, scratches his head, every now and then, putting the ball far outside and off or leg stump, hardly can make any contribution with the bat and of course, is not the one, with whom any captain feel proud off as the finisher of the game.

Do not live in past glories. He had past glory but now is a pretty ordinary performer for last few years. He is their solely because others are not there (injured, not fit, not explored), not because, he is the one to reckon with.

cheers
