Dravid and Indian Cricket
by KPTRIPATHI on Sep 17, 2007 02:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Well. the most corrupt, nonsecular , biased , unreliable and irrespnosible sector in the country at the moment is media ; electronic in particular and print lesser. I am sorry and pained to say this but it has to be said by some one at first because the saying that who shall bell the cat is very much relevent here.If Dravid does it(leaving the captaincy)why the people are so puzzled. He shall let every one know it at appropriate time. May be he wanted to taste the fun of leading a team which now he leaves after enjoying it.No doubt he is the one of the grat of Indian cricket who did everything on his own. The media likes the person of the liking of Sania, Dhanraj and Dhoni and not the liking of Manav sandhu , Prab Jot , Dravid and so on.The media says and does as per the ideaology of the establishment to which they belong and and as per ther own ideaology. Very few of them are unbiased and most of them /majority of them are biased. In an accident some people are killed and the system does the relief as per their resources . The reason will be only one for the accident but 20 media houses give 20 verson hanging 20 different persons for the same incident. How it can be. Dravid is one of the through gentle man of the Indian cricket. He is unparallel. If he has done it we should appreciate this and praise him because in Indian cricket he may be one and only one to do this at this peak.Dravid you are great.

A great batsman like Dravid must not be a part of the 'POWERPLAY'. He has done the right thing.

Ban Dravid for 1 yr
by bhaskar on Sep 17, 2007 02:30 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I hope BCCI take up a decision to ban Dravid for atleast 1 yr as he could not take up the biggest responsibility of sporting career.
Being a captain is not only a pride but a great sense of responsibility. Better not take anyone who regrets being a captain of Team India.
You are not made captain just because you deserve but because your experience is put into effect.

Oye Bhaskar. Looks like BCCI is your sasural. U want to ban Rahul for not taking up the responsibility? What about Tendulkar? Even he gave up his captaincy. He never said he regretted being the captain of the team. And mind you, a captain is as good as the team. The team is selected by the selectors and not by the captain. And if he has resigned from the captaincy, what is ur problem? If he was a captain u have a problem too. U one lump of brainless flesh. Think before you write.

Bhaskar,

The scenes enacted are like using your own hand to blind yourself. Then the selecters will show surprise after that. thats how the politics and money and powar...er...pawar...er....power works. So, no use showing your ire on Dravid or Ganguly or someone else. Even Sachin's case would be the same.

Politics in Sports
by Venkatesh Sekhar on Sep 17, 2007 02:28 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Politicians interferance in any sports is the start of decline of the same, as only politics will be played and not the sport.

If Dravid says that Captaincy has taken toll on his batting, it should not be believed, If a captiain is under pressure he cannot score 92 runs out of 63 ball!!! He had some good scored during the one day series but for some poor decisions by Umpires. Even in test he had the bad luck of poor umpiring. So the reason of not able to concentrate on batting is just an eye wash.

Tendulkar is not ready to take the hot plate in his hand again and Ganguly is not offered and players like Kumble were never considered for this position by Board, then who else???

There is one player whose performance (batting & bowling) will never come down due to the pressure of captaincy.

He is none other than Ajit Aggarkar.

Nothing worst than scoring zeros in batting (Which he is consistantly doing) and close to zero performance in bowling! Above all he is from Mumbai!!!

So in all means he is the next captain of Team India.

All good players resign / retire and join ICL please!!!!!!!!!!

This is the most ideal suggestion for the captain. Ajit Agarkar has no pressure either bowling, batting or fielding beacuse of hs zero performance. He is from Bombay, speaks marathi (rememebr how Pawar made him speak in marathi while accepting the MOM in Pune)and is assured of his place in the team till he retires. So what BCCI will look like, President-Pawar (Bombay), Coach: Borde (Bbay)Captain- Bombay, Selectors-shastri,Gavaskar(bombay) Coach of A team - Lalchand Rajput (bombay),Coach of Under -19, Paras Mambrey (Bbay), Chief Selector- Vengsarkar (Bbay), Chief of Cricket Academy who replaced Kapil- Guy from Bbay. Only thing left is to inlcude Bal Thackeray in BCCI and play the Bombay Ranji team as Indian team. remember how Sunil Gavaskar took Suru Nayak to England- don't be surprised if that happens.

perfect suggestion, if only we could submit memorandum to choose the captain, we could poll in our vores for this gr8 man AJIT AGARKAR(the destroyer) (of his own team). guys watching T20 world cup will agree with me that we lost the match against the black caps due to his poor bowling. and almost lost the pak match too.
c'mon guys lets make him the CAPTAIN of the Indian Cricket Team.

The real trouble
by Abhijit Dongre! on Sep 17, 2007 02:27 PM  Permalink

The real trouble for Indian cricket is the involment of politics. Should Pawar step down, all the problems will be solved automatically.

You see, once the personal interests come in sports, it is doomed. We have great players in the team, great batsmen, great middle order players, a great hitter, good bowling attack and good fielding. Why we do not win as often as Australians? If you analyse all the factors you will zero down on the fact that, cricket has become a money spinning business, dominated by politicians.

Politicians are good as far as their personal interests are concerned, hardly any good outside of it. They are paid for losing the matches or to favour the results their own way.

Ask the politicians to step down and you have got a great and winning combination.
