You're absolutely right. Rediff is playing cheap tricks to create sensational/controversies out of nothing..
Man what does this guy know, he played cricket in his gully in some slums back 20 years ago. Cricketers have become more dominating, look at australia & SA. They scored 400 in an ODI, when did this guys team ever even come close to that.
somebody said Dravid is half-maharashtrian (mom) and half-tamil (Dad). Read Vedam Jaishankar's biography of Dravid. Dravid's paternal grandfather was from a place called Tanjore. A fact is Tajore king was Bhosale a Maharashtrian step brother of sivaji since then lots of Maharashtrians even Brahmins are settled there,
his father Shahaji had Bengluru tumkur area under his helm. He died near Chikmaglur while hunting in an accident. Even Sivaji son was Rajaram was kept in Ginjee fort in Tamilnadu when he was in teens. Aurangzeb was there in Maharashtra to conquer Maratha kingdom for 27 years died there but could not win. The Maratha Genarals kept Prince there for brief period as Mughal's had habit of catching the prince and asking ransom. Generals did not wanted duel responsibility during that period. Generals fought the war against mighty Mughal buried him in Maharashtra reinstated the king Rajaram and went on to conquer Delhi a Mughal kingdom.
In short dont fight over Captaincy a win for team is important with Captain or even without....

Hey come on man...he has been India's best batsman in both the versions of the game since his return in South Africa...and the opponents have been SA, England, Bangladesh at their backyward, Sri Lanka, WI at home. No point being irrational ganuly hater. u r similar to irrational ganguly fans.

Exactly!! I am not sure why Bongla can't see what the rest of the India is seeing.
Once again media (rediff) proves that they want to sensationalizing the issues. Look at the heading of this article chandu borde in this interview said so many good things about Rahul but see what rediff picked up for heading. "Rahul is not flamboyant" pls media report good things in proper manner

right keshav, most of the wars between players or film stars or politicians are fabricated by media. hell media. you lost the credibility.
Rahul stepping down from captaincy once again proved his defensive attitude. However, I also know what he would have undergone during last 18 months or so.
During Ganguly captainship, it was Rahul who scored big hundreds & stuck in there as a main batsman. I think he got hundreds when it mattered most & was part of winning material in Indian team. To name few, innigs of 180 in Calcutta, followed by few 100s in England & a big 270 in Australia & couple of them in Pakistan. He also kept wickets when India went on to make it to the Finals of 2003 WORLDCUP.
Also we can see how Ganguly supported him through out. Ganguly looked like his own & never part of teams decision. Lords one day for example....he looked like getting out from ball 1.
Also some of the ex-cricketers who commented a lot sitting in their dressing rooms may have affected his decision to continue as a captain. There was no need for Kapil Dev to make statements & we all know how Kapil was playing during his last days.
Anyway, Dravid is a thinking cricketer & a gentleman & we all need to respect his decision. But I would have loved to see Rahul grooming some one like Kaif, Pathan, Sehwag as a next captain & then resign from this post.

On Dravid's critics: I was astounded by Ajay "Match-fixer" Jadeja's constant pot-shots and how India did not capitalize on a winnable opportunity. He is the last person (ok, he and Azharuddin) that should speak about what India must do to win a match.

Ajay Jadeja is a born Dravid baiter, never looses an oppurtunity to nail Dravid. What an irony, history will only remember him as a match fixer & nothing else. He is not entitled to take Dravid's name leave alone critisize him. His NDTV connections allow him to just fart around as an enlightened cricket expert, he doesn't deserve any attention at all

Ajay jadeja dint even earn a test berth permanently. His footwork is pathetic and defence full of flaws.I was wondering y no comments were posted against him so far.He doesnt even have the credentilas to say Dravid's name.Azhar was a flat track bully(just like Most indian batters)>He was a pathetic skipper.Kumble and SAchin won him test matches at home and Sachin won him a few ODI trophies.GE of all people is talking about aggression!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am unable to understand why there is a big difference in what Chandu said, and the way it has been expressed as a headline " 'Dravid was neither demonstrative nor flamboyant' This is surely what Mr borde didnt mean!!!!
rediff should take strong action agains the journalist/editor who has written the headline. it gives totally a wrong tone to the readers!

ya. Ganguly agrressive for following reasons 1. Removed shirt when somebody else won the match 2. Faked injuries seeing green top pitches 3. Acts like a joker when faced with short pitched deliveries and gets out 4. Runs like a snail between wickets and fields like a buffalo
