Shouldnt be captain though. Hes not at all intimidating. His decision not enforce the follow on is ultra defensive and goes against the spirit of sports. Its like he is investing in the stock market and afraid of a crash. That is horrible, thats not captaincy at all. Hes better as a batsman. With captaincy like this people will not watch cricket.

I agree with your assessment of Dravid. Let us now forget him as a 'tragic' character who was used by Chappell to become the 'real' captain
" Unlike many other captains, he was neither demonstrative nor flamboyant, but that isn't what captaincy is all about." ...but rediff headlines is simply to cause misunderstandings...rediff get a life!!

Dravid is such a great Icon to whom the entire nation looks upto...but such misleading article headings puts a great website like Rediff.com into shame...
Better Rediff learn some ethiks and try to keep titles really reflect the content.. dont be very cheap.. dont be hungry for cheap publicity.. if Borde say some one.. GOD.. you put title as DOG.. shitty.. Anyway Good decision by Dravid, keeping in mind the politics in the board (eg..why agarkar get new ball always, infact how can he get a place), he can concentrate on his game for couple of more years.. Well done..
This is very bad editing. Rediff is misleading the public with such headlines. What Chandu Borde said was that Rahul "was very inspirational also. Unlike many other captains, he was neither demonstrative nor flamboyant, but that isn't what captaincy is all about. He went about his job with a quiet dignity...". Now just taking a small clip from this statement and twisting the meaning completely is bad/cheap journalism. Rediff doesn't have to stoop down to such low levels to gain publicity. Shame on Rediff!!!
Dravid - can be named in the top 10 all-time gr8 test cricketers. There are number of occassions were he has saved the team from disaster and number of occasions were he has lead the team to victory. This is not only from the test cricket side. Also, in one dayers. But for one reason, he is not liked by many. That is nothing but his lack of aggressiveness. Thats wat many of us complain on him. Is this really fair? U cant expect everyone in a team to be aggressive and u cant expect a team to win all the matches. No team can do that. If Aus can loose to B'desh / zim, its not a strange thing for india to loose to eng. One should understand that enforcing a follow-on is not only in captain's hand. It will be a collective decision. He would have definitely taken suggestions from sachin and sourav. Y should we blame him alone? I think RD didn't get support from team, BCCI, media and from the public (Its shame on us). It was very unfair on Zaheer to comment on the follow-on decision after the match was over. Such things will really make a person feel very bad. I think RD was on lots of mental tension. Indian team needs RD very badly. RD's health and mental strength is very important for the team to win. So, its better if he comes out of the captain shoes and just focus on his batting. All the best RD... U deserve a lots of applause...
