Dravuid was neither demonstrative nor flamboyant
by Purushottam Singi on Sep 17, 2007 11:00 AM  Permalink

resignation of Mr. Rahul Dravid as captain of Indian team has come due to internal rivalaries in team as well as the BCCI. Mr. Dravid has no chice but to rsign because it was a Board and its Selection Committee inspired coup against Mr. Dravid.
immediately on leakage of his resignation people close to the power to be virtually nominated a senior player as next captain despite his pooer record as captain, totally ignoring records of other player, who has been the best captain so far Indian cricket has produced. This shows that Bombay lobby has triumphed in disgracing a fine player and will be able to put a player as new captain whose record as a captain is absymal.

Desperate attempt to

A good example of desperate journalism. You can make people read the article with such misleading headline, but in the end it leaves a bad taste even though the article might be good. Wake up rediff, before u lose your credibility totally

Indian Captainship issue
by gaurang patel on Sep 17, 2007 10:59 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This post is the most vunerable for any Indian player who becomes captain of the Indian Cricket team. As an captain Dravid was good. He gave support to young players but fail to succumb the wrath of the opposite players when they used SLEDGING against India. He never expressed his aggressiveness against any of the team. Sometimes this in expressiveness creates weakness among fellow players. Same way Ganguly was aggressive in his playing approach which would give players more inspiration. The game of cricket should be played with aggressiveness & sledging should be answered in same way it was given. So i think Dravid made right decision here by giving up when his book records were slightly good then others. I think India needs an aggressive captain ( may be Yuvraj or Dhoni).Even though the team loses they will still inspire with their aggressivesness rather than Dravid biting his nails & walking down to pavilion by putting his head down.

Sorry Kumar there is no need to understand why he is in.I hope yoy that he is from Bombay. And I think bcoz this reason Dravid might have resigned(being forced to select him play always, everywhere, anywhere). He is by default gets nod ahead of other players.Ajit Agrakar is most luckier than anoybody in the world even more than Sachin.

Stupid Journalism and cheap play
by gopal menon on Sep 17, 2007 10:56 AM  Permalink

It is Okay if Rediff had put the complete sentence as a Heading of the topic; But such a nice statement had been curtailed to rediff's bane. This is a real cheap play.

Are the rediff editors sleeping on their cozy chairs? Dumb asses!

Media The killer
by Atul Modi on Sep 17, 2007 10:55 AM  Permalink

Yes I feel the media played a very flamboyant role in demoralising the thinking process of the Captain and misguided the indian gullibles to such an extent that the comments faced by the family and relatives have pushed Dravid enough to make such a decision. Apart from this there seems to be some thing hidden in the entire story which is going aroung as far as the sudden decision is concerned.

Hail Mogamo Hail media.

ashamed
by Nilesh Kulkarni on Sep 17, 2007 10:54 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

i myself am ashamed given so much of West and Mumbai lobby in Indian cricket. No wonder dravid felt the presure and resigned as captain

Its because of Human Baggage like sachin tendulkar that the team went into jeopardy during world cup.

whats the point of scoring in irrelevant series without pressure and flat pitches in england... wht is he trying to prove??

he is a goner. can sachin score a century in perth against the bowling of lee, clark, mitchell johnson etc.,

his chamchas (fans) are the reason for his existence... selfish player of the century
