At least Roger agrees with me that India ought to have gone for the kill at Oval. It is unfortunate that most of REdiff readers (who have reacted to my mail) have agreed with Rahul's safety-first strategy. If India cannot win a test match from the position that it was in at Oval, then I am sorry, India will never be a world-beater

I dont agree simply because Dravid cant afford to take decision either way which will be questioned based on results. And had we lost to Englad even after enforcing the follow-on no one could have appreciated the boldness of Dravid. I feel Dravid's decision was purely on meeting his customer (Spectator) requirements as well as managing the risk of more criticism.

I completely agree to u, no one can ever b as aggressive as ganguly was , dravid panicks under pressure, he does'nt know how to attack, poor captain he is.....

Thanks Anil. But FYI, Gangu also played defensive and drew the test match at sydney Waugh's last), stretching our innings to 705 on thrid day morning before declaring. We narrowly missed winning the test match and the series.

I can't forget pathiv patel's performance in that match. how big was his role in denying the series win over ausies...

I know a dude (just kidding!!) from Lakshdweep who ll miss 99 out of 100 deliveries but would hit a six in the only ball that he connects. Surely he should qualify to be in the Indian team on quota!!

It is worth watching for the simple reason that oldies are not in the team :)
Do we really think the great names like sachin, dravid and ganguly need to play and take the place in the team or they should give the chance to the yongsters and in india 32 age should be the last age for the cricket as we have many youngsters waiting for thier chances

I DON'T THINK BUT KNOW FOR SURE THAT WE NEED THOSE THREE TO PLAY. WE HAVE SEEN THE CALIBER OF THE YOUNGSTERS ... UTTER LACK OF TALENT.

Ha Ha thats true. In fact youngsters today want to play safe and earn quick money. In future we may not see the likes of Kartik and Dhoni apart from Dravid and Sachin in the following generations.

why cant u be from INDIA and for once take pride in it man!!!!
I feel these are the most talented youngsters in India and they need to be groomed properly :
Cheteshwar Pujara Yo Mahesh S Badrinath Rohit Sharma Manoj Tiwari Piyush Chawla Parthiv Patel Ranadeb Bose(not really a youngster but talented) Ishant Sharma Yousuf Pathan Venugopal Rao(India's Jonty Rhodes)
I feel these people should be given opportunities in a staggered manner by resting seniors for tours to Zimbabwe and Bangladesh! Also, in dead rubbers in India, these people should be played!!
Also, the BCCI should ensure that the India A teams that travel do not include test discards but these youngsters!!

I do agree with you Coolie. Unless they're given a chance in international 11 and persisted with, these youngster will never come in light. I can see Ganguly's spot should be given to one of these youngster. I am not against Ganguly, Ganguly was one of the great Indian player. But he is way beyond his prime and makes no sense bringing him back in ODI team.
Mohammad Kaif was given many opportunities but failed with the bat on most ocassions!! He was even pushed up the order by Dravid but still failed!! A guy can't sustain a place in the team purely on the basis of his batting!! I think there are more deserving guys like Rohit Sharma and Badrinath and even Raina who should be given ample opportunities!!

with the suggestion you have no wonder u r a coolie by name..i'm guessing u r a coolie by profession too..not code but train coolie..cause thats where u r supposed to end up with the brain cells u have..
INDIA can make Mistakes and Win The series... "If you can't make a mistake, you can't make anything" -for Indian cricket players... so do make ur mistakes in fielding, batting, and bowling then only india will win the match...and clench the series againest england.
