racism

Message to Australians:
we do not understand why anyone in india would feel Symonds is different from any other aussie player....(the aussies know the difference, but the average Indian doesnt know....pls note)

Indians at best are taunting the aussies because they, represented by ponting, have been using and abusing all teams for a long time and in general, though Indians appreciate the Aussie Team for their cricket, we will never want them to win against any team....because of their attitude on field....

What the aussies need to do is become good ambassadors for the sport and be gallant in winning and losing!! not cry babies and sulks...

We Indians Love our Cricket and our Cricketers that is why Steve Waugh, Lara, Richards and so many others are still popular in this country...

If Ponting & team dont want to win Hearts and only win matches then he is doing the Game a disservice and taking it back to Bodyline days...

The only player one can appreciate for all round performance is Brett Lee...who is quite popular among Indian fans...

Indian Cricketers, Please fight Fire with Fire we will back u up....
A CRICKET FAN

Pls note Symonds is from one of the most racially abused community in the world( aborginies as they call in australia , whose land and country they have captured and made them into a third class citizen in the country of thier own origin ). and the worse offenders have been white Australians.
Its the Guilty conscious thats biting them.
Anyways if this episode is helping them wake up from thier own slumber.. its wonderful for his kin back in australia.
Good luck ponting

ICC Double standard
by darshak shah on Oct 20, 2007 01:16 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

ICC is talking about what is happening with visiting australians here. What they are doing when indian team travels to Aus, SA and England. BCCI should takeup this with them and ask for explaination.

I strongly feel that India, Pakistan, Srilanka and B'desh should form a group and ensure proper treatment to their team in these countires.

I entirely agree with this suggestion. If ICC is not going to act impartially, better quit the body. We are not going to be poorer by such quit. They will come running after us. If Indian subcontinent countries go out of ICC, their revenues will nosedive and they will not like it least. Soon after so many bad decisions, our Board said that they will lodge a complaint to ICC. What has happened, is ICC or BCCI or both sleeping? One must remember that Steve Waugh has recently said that making monkey calls or cat calls does not amount to racial abuse. ICC should refer the matter to Steve! It appears that ICC and Ponting are making ground for racial abuse of Indian players when the latter are due to tour Australia.

Indian English media is a slave
by Rajdeep Drohi on Oct 20, 2007 01:08 PM  Permalink

When the white man Ponting says Indian fans shouted racist abuse, our slavish Indian media laps it up like an obedient lapdog. They have no indpendent views or feel the need to find out what racial abuse constitutes. They are willing tools in Ponting and Aussies 'mental disintegration' tactics. Despicable!!! Now when the Indian team faces racism in Aussie, Indian English media will say they deserved it

Well said. Also, Darwin has said Monkeys are our close relatives & the Provincial?capital of the Northern?Territory of Australia is called 'Darwin'.
So why the Aussies have to worry abt this remark (incase it was intentional).

Yeah you are right.
When Dhoni hit Kallis for 6 in the same series against SA, you could easily lip read, "Fu..... Bas...d which Kallis screamed at Dhoni, who shyly put his face down.
We need more like Sreesant who gives it back to the Aussies. Also Harbhajan and Uthappa who also give it back.
Enough of the stupid, scaredy poke Gandhigiri. The Motto should be get respect and give respect.
Also, a word of advice to the Tiger Sree, please sledge but do it cleverly, meaning the camera should not catch anything. The Aussies are Masters of that Art.

I was at Wankhede Stadium (North Stand). I saw people cheering for Australia also. When Gilchrist took his 400 catch everyone from the crowd including myself cheered him. Ponting is trying create an issue.

They are very much indians but do not have false and misplaced sense of patriotism as you naive people have.
For them winning T20 (fakely) is not patriotism but some one who fights at the border is a true patriot. These BCCI earn money , how much they have done for social cause
