Let us replace BOSE with the GREAT - ASHISH NEHRA - Afetre every ball he bowls the mid-on and mid-off have to collect not only the ball butthe parts that fall off NEHRA's body (the epitome of fitness) and reassemble them as he walks back.

There you go - we have a team acceptable to ZINDA HOON

Sachin to open
by Sava on Nov 25, 2007 11:12 PM  Permalink

Its better to promote Sachin to open along with Jaffer and Dravid to come in at No.3 followed by Ganguly,Laxman,Yuvi and Dhoni.Laxman and Yuvi's position should be interchangeable depending on the left-right combination. Dinesh karthick is a good wicketkeeper and will be the standby for Dhoni. With Sachin in the present form he can perform the role of sheet anchor and be aggressive when needed.

SOURAV GANGULY
by Takiona Muteaasi on Nov 25, 2007 10:50 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Some felt he couldn't play the bouncer, others swore that he was God on the off-side; some laughed at his lack of athleticism, others took immense pride in his ability to galvanise a side. Sourav Ganguly's ability to polarise opinion led to one of the most fascinating dramas in Indian cricket. Yet, nobody can dispute that he was India's most successful Test captain - forging a winning unit from a bunch of talented, but directionless, individuals - and nobody can argue about him being one of the greatest one-day batsmen of all time. Despite being a batsman who combined grace with surgical precision in his strokeplay, his career had spluttered to a standstill before being resurrected by a scintillating hundred on debut at Lord's in 1996. Later that year, he was promoted to the top of the order in ODIs and, along with Sachin Tendulkar, formed one of the most destructive opening pairs in history.

When he took over the captaincy after the match-fixing exposes in 2000, he quickly proved to be a tough, intuitive and uncompromising leader. Under his stewardship India started winning Test matches away, and put together a splendid streak that took them all the way to the World Cup final in 2003. Later that year, in Australia, an unexpected and incandescent hundred at Brisbane set the tone for the series - Steve Waugh's last - where India fought the world's best team to a standstill. Victory in Pakistan turned him into a cult figure but instead of being a springboard for greater t

Even by the UP ischool standards, the sentence 'Human value, although I don't get bothered by your insults.' is a fragment and is grammatically incorrect. Well, you can justify yourself by washing your face under the Ass*holes of United States.

RE:Vengsarkar was correct...

The are a bunch of middle order batsmen:

YUVRAJ, ROHIT, TIWARI, BADRINATH, UTHAPPA, VENUGOPAL RAO,
and RAINA. That is enough to make the middle orders for TWO more teams.
SEHWAG, GAMBHIR, CHOPRA, PUJARA. That is two more sets of openers.
Ohja, Chawla, Ramkumar, Pawar. That is two sets of spinners.

That is a LOT of bench strength. Vengsarkar probaly does not even know these people's names.

India No.2
by bhupindersingh bindra on Nov 25, 2007 10:09 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

India is on verge of being the second best Test-playing Team in the world behind Aussies.
They are having the right balance with Top run getters in the world in the middle order followed by the best WK-batsman Dhony, and best spinners in World Kumble and Harbhajan, giving support to Zaheer.
With Gambhir knocking the doors as opening batsman.
May be with little bit of luck favouring India(and of course the Umpires too),we can get the first series win in Australia next series,to get the top.

Sehwag shud b there for tests
by chiranjit nandy on Nov 25, 2007 10:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sehwag shud b there coz i think the rate at which he scores if he scores gives india the edge, and a 90 ball 50 from a jaffer or a kathick wont change the complexion of the game in Brisbane and Adeilade. its Sehwag who make other teams go on defensive. i am not exactly a fan of sehwag, but it does give india more of a chance. Again of course it is my thought only.

so cool guy u think kartick would be successful in aurtralia? Kartick is a makeshift opener and his first test against real pace has been a falilure. Sehwag is not in form for sure, but is is better to take a guy who has a proven track record than a guy who we know for sure would fail.

I feel it is too early to comment on Karthik just after one bad test. Mr. Ramakrishnan, how long are you going to select players like Sehwag based on their past records??? Sehwag has got the most chances than any other cricketer. He was not good enough to grab them
