Misleading Title
by Srihari Kulkarni on Nov 25, 2007 03:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The title for this article on the home page says "Kumble-Dravid pair create record". The pair have only 50 wickets to their name. The title is misleading. Rediff should clean its act up since this is the nth instance of such a goof up

I agree. This is Rediff's way of getting more clicks on the news article.

Kumble - Dravid pair "reach milestone" would have been more appropriate title, as they are still about 13 catches/dismissals away from the existing record.

Pillars alone do not make a mansion, there's need for foundation, floors, walls, ceilings, windows and doors as well... you might want to take that blinder off once in a while...we cant just generalize things like that. Of course they are good..but that doesn't mean others are bad.. Everyone is good at their own skillsets.

Kumble Dravid Laxman and to some extent Tendulkar are the pillars. When they retire from tests I do not know how we are going to find replacements for them. Kumble also is a great batsman for 6 down position.

Hope Mr. Natarajan has got his answer once again (like several times in the past) watching todays play.
Please don't try to victimise or criticize anyone by personal anger !!!!!
All the leading players - Tendulkar, Dravid, Kumble, Laxman as well as Ganguly contributed a lot for India several times. May be each one of them had some bad patches or bad form for sometime, which is obvious for all sports & for all sportsperson.
Just try to look & analyze the statistics of these players, then u will get ur answers.

But Mr. Ganguli is neither a pillar nor a foundation nor floors nor walls nor ceilings nor windows and nor doors probably Ganguli means
synonim for Garbage which should be thrown out.

You are right.. I dont know spilt up of kumble's test wickets..but many of them must be lbw and bolds (bcoz of his pace) otherwise he would have been at top in this record..
