no grass in australia as well
by biswa pal on Nov 21, 2007 11:20 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

australian pitches are fast paced but they have even bounce and pace.there is not much grass on the wickets if the recent aus-srilanka series is anything to go by.recently, the indian team has performed well abroad and they will do well in australia as well.playing to the opponents(and that too pakistan) strengths at home would be foolish.kumble, will win us the game.by the grace of god.

its not important whether india plays to their strength of spinners or not. ok v play on spinner friendly pitches here.
but wud u take performances of players on such pitches as a yardstick for selecting the team to ausi. the problem is selectors r going to select the team for ausi on performances of players in the dead turners of ind pitches.

the selectors dont have to make a tough choice while selecting the test team because most of the players select themselves.india has batsmen who have scored runs all over the world.so,them adapting to different conditions should not be a problem.the australians can adapt to indian conditions,so why can't the indians.the only problem the indians could face is that they wont get enough time to adapt as india has only one warm up game scheduled.bcci has to be blamed for this.they should have at least ensured two warm up games before a gruelling test series.

india almost won the series last time in australia.and i am talking abt the recent form of the team abroad.certainly, you can say they have started winning abroad.and we have a much better pace attack now.

India nearly won the last series in Australia was a different story all together. First Australia had a completely screwed up bowling attack, except for final test where Lee and Gillespie were there, that too they were no where near their peak due to injuries. The first 3 tests saw Australia bowl their weakest bowling attack perhaps in a decade and add to it those pitches in those series for strange reasons werent that fast and bouncy and even the ex-australian crickets had critisized the curators for making such pitches.

It is not the same story this time with Australia having groomed the fast bowlers now and neither the pitches will be like those in the last series.

well..sachin will enjoy the fast, bouncy pitches - he relishes the ball coming on to the bat. So if that's their pitch report, they are askin' for it. Get ready for some hammering from the li'l master's blade.

exactly, its never the same story.india has become stronger.australia have a new bowling attack.they dont have mcgrath and warne.they have a screwed bowling attack this time as well.so,india definitely stands a chance.

biswa pal. is 100 % right.

australians dont use grass on their pitches..
Australians pitches have some bounce, but are also good for stroke play.

The reason for all their victories is that they have a very good bowling attack.

grass is sometimes used in pitches in newzealand, SA and england top help the local team.

But never in australia because they are confidant about their team's performance.

it is used in subcontinant, just to hold toghether the underprepared pitches.

Dear Pakistani Brother

I dont think colour of man makes one beautiful/ugly. FYI Dhoni is not black and ugly. He is quite charming in his ways. To think that girls chase only fair man is not fair by any means.

I think the situation described by you stands true when you see Bollywood heros which are chased zealously by pakistani women equally. For that reason legend amitabh is not fair but chased by many.....

It is true.Indians ae a brown race and so are Pakis unless they are pashtuns or afgans, Iranians or Tajiks. people from North India specially Punjab look similar to pakistani Panjabis or sindhis. Indians range from very fair to dark and pakis range from very fair to dark brown. what is the big deal?To our eye Shoib Aktar does not look any fairer than our north Indian players. There is no need to take offense or make any unnecessary statement about skin color of the players.
