I think Sehwag is badly needed for this test series.. He is one guy whom PAK fears a lot, coz Sehwag scored his 3 double hundreds against PAK(309,264,201)...Also he faced Akhtar, Gul & Kaneria in many occassions..The selectors did wrong..
The injuries to the fast bowlers and their standing down for the first Test is odd.But that is a chance to test the bench strength. Munaf has to be first choice despite his attitude and fitness.Chance to see how he goes.One slot for Aus tour to be tested. Next comes Pankaj Singh.Has done well recently.Has the physique.Has bowled longer spells and taken wickets.Has batting potential.Needs to be tried.Pace-Can he clock above 135.Don't know. Ishant Sharma looks good.Has pace at 135.Wicket taking not yet there as yet.But to be tried later. Irfan Pathan is an enigma.Has lost wicket taking ability.Has become a stock bowler.Pace is down.What to do?Nurture him for some time.Has years and can get better. While the batsmen are the prima donnas,the bowlers hardly get attention.They need to be nutured and not fade out quickly like Balaji and Nehra.

This is as per Batting order. RP & Shree are not playing due to injury. Yuvraj may come for Saurav or Laxman or Dhoni(If Unfit).Saurav will be useful as third med pacer and Sachin as third spinner(He bowls both spins leg and off).

Check your statics Gambhir , p.patel & pathan not select for test & you select them in playing 11 What a joke
India have good chances to win this series against the Paks. Problem, however, is that few people in the BCCI understand cricket. Look at the way they try to gag Vengsarkar and his colleagues, and the way some of them try to malign Shah Rukh for no apparent reason. I suspect this might adversely affect the team's morale.
