It is good to see that Haresh Pandya has taken a definite stand on the team selection categorically saying that the selectors have done a good job. Normally people tend to sit on the fence until the results are out and then say what is convenient.
Now that Pandya has laid out his cards it remains to be seen if he continues to maintain his stand even if India do not do too well (God forbid!) against Pakistan. Mr. Pandya, we will be watching out for your reactions during the series. Hope that some time in future, the very person who has praised the selection does not start criticizing it!

I think selectors missed a trick by selecting 2 keepers for domestic season in a squad of 14. They should have picked another opener in place of MS Dhoni.
Mr. Haresh Pandya, when you write an article on the 14 players selected, can you please list the 14 players' names? That will make it easy to understand your article :)
If you look at the squad, the selectors could have easily done away with MS Dhoni. Having Dinesh Karthick in the squad and almost certain to open the innings, gives Indian team to play all 3 spinners (and 2 pacers) by leaving out MS Dhoni. Alternatively they can play both Yuvraj and Laxman (and 4 bowlers) by leaving out MS Dhoni. Given indian pitches which assist spin bowling the option of playing 3 different variety of spinners (legspin/googly, offbreaks/doosra, and left arm orthodox spin) is a good optionto have. I think Kumble should go for it.

Good idea but too radical for our selectors/BCCI to implement.... ....however the man of the moment- Dhoni will claim he is ready to open the innings with Jaffer and Karthik should sit!
When you are playing in India (or anywhere in the subcontinent, it will probably work but the real test for India is when they visit Aus.

They could have added another opener (should Wasim Jaffer fail) in place of MS Dhoni - Gambhir or Akash Chopra or Parthiv Patel)
