don't say negative things for a player who has done so much for our country..i am sure he will soon be contemplating retirement and this is no way to bid him good bye. we should respect the man for his contribution and for all the joy he has given us and the game...let us unite and proudly say three cheers for a great players like sachin ramesh tendulkar!! yes sir, we should be proud of this son of our soil..jaihind

He was alla long selfish and because of his presence at least for the last five years we have lost many many young upcoming cricketers. The Board has made many many favourtism even when he was injured and was not playing properly. Come what may the Captainship can be given to Doni and India can build up a real talented young taem and before that all the old guards to be asked to go awsy
tendulkar ! ur superb.....ur really GEM ,thats the reason most of the indians remember u than cricket...........now i think captain shud be VERY VERY SPECIAL,VVS.LAXMAN.........selector wont have other choice.....hats off to tendulkar

if he is that great.. he should retire.. not stick around when he is unwanted..
there is enough talent in the country. what has he done tangible for the team post WC 2003. cunningly scoring in inconsequential and unwanted matches in ireland, england and claiming to be the world's best.
how many matches has he won for india afer sharjah?

R u Mad, do you have any sense of cricket, Don't comment becoz u don't like Sachin, Just tell me One consistent Player who has scored has many runs as Sachin in this so called "Team India", YOu pepole can never be succesfull in ur life who are jealous abt other's success, We are talking abt cricket not a Movie where Hero Does the way you Guys dream..., Just stop watching cricket, it's my advice to you

If u don't like Sachin, let it be like that. But this is not the way to treat India's greatest player.
We would like to see once again to lead Indian test team. There is no alternative right now. Also he has got the maximum winning record. Ap keya kehte hai?

Dhoni would be a better choice that Saurav please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
since sachin, ganguly, dravid dnt want to be captain. why not kumble as test captain till dhoni/yuvraj or whoever has played enuf tests to become captain
RE:why not kumble
by GOBIND HOTCHANDANI on Nov 06, 2007 04:22 PM Permalink
yes pillai, you are right. this undoubtedly the best option, but the selectors will never listen to the voice of reason as have their own opinion, therefore, bloody difficult to take a guess!!

Tendulkar doesnt know that his cricketing days are numbered!
The BCCI is making fun of itself, people turn down the offer for COACH, after BCCI has annoounced the coach and now its Dravid and Sachin who have given their NO for being the Captain...
Dont know what stopping BOARD from giving the chance to GANGULY...he was dropped from Team as he was out of form and no boddy doubted his leadership skills....he has now proved his form...and is still the best choice for Test Captain....ofcourse if theres no regional politics in Team India

I salute you Mr Ashok for your candid opinion about the selectors and on ganguly. In the case of sachin he enjoyed the fruits not only once but two but with a bitter taste. In both the the cases, it was the decision of the BCCI to bestow upon him the Captaincy, though he was reluctant. Both the occasions he announced his willingness to relinguish the captaincy cap and subsequently relinguished himself. When a player is not interested to take over, why this BCCI is running after him. We have with us in the team a proven and experienced captain by name Ganguly and why do not the BCCI grab this opportune moement and appoint gangully as a captain. Do not think twice, do it right now, instead of running after somebody who is not interested. Even in the case ganguly, BCCI should ask him whether or not he willing to take up the mantle, before announcement. Coming to Dhoni, he is in an infant stage and as such he should not be burdened with this tag. Let him be the captain of ODI and for test, we can think of somebody as indicated herein above. Whend it comes to sports, at least do not think of religion, colour or creed - at least BCCI should not biased.

Even if he is offerred the captaincy, there will be no charm left in his taking over! Even if he is offerred captaincy, it is very obvious that he was not the first choice or not even the second choice!

shut up & look at the past where your base pillars are standing....let the dhoni learn the aggression from ganguly as a captain.
