Dhoni- No please
by Raam on Nov 06, 2007 04:51 PM  Permalink

Dhoni should be rested at least for the forthcoming test series. The tension in playing WC 20-20, Australia and Pakistan in ODI has taken his toll. He should be preserved and should not be allowed to become stale. We have keepers - Dinesh Karthik and Parthiv Patel who are in good touch.

I think the best suitable person for test captaincy is JUMBO (Kumble). he should end his carrer as a captain as he has served for the country alomst 20 yrs

Captaincy is not so easy....Taking the captaincy at the end of the career would degrade all his efforts he put in these many days..

Recall dada
by PK on Nov 06, 2007 04:50 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Recall Dada. By the way what's wrong with dada?? He had a lean patch which he has successfully overcame now.

Dada sould recalled so that he shows some of his tricks to his deputy (say Dhoni) and then Allow DADA to sink (announce retirement) gracefully.

Coward Act from Sachin
by amit srivastava on Nov 06, 2007 04:49 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What more I can expect from Sachin, when you are asked to serve the country, as a good citizen obey the order and not just show your back or else announce the retirement if not fit.

But I am sure he is more interested in endorsements for which he likes to play. Poor chap....

In bad taste Mr Amit. Though his reflexes has gone down drastically, he is above all this.

The Bengalis should rise above state politics.
Actually I think Dada should be removed from the ODI team also.
Statistics should take into account the fielding lapses and poor running between wickets also. Then you will see Dada is nothing more than 5 or 10 runs in each match.
Yesterday, the simple catch that he dropped of Yousuf when he was was still in single digits resulted in Yousuf scoring 80odd runs and almost winning the game for Pakistan.
This is the case in most games. But statistics reveals far less than it hides

I am not bengali, but I find dada best suited for job.Captain is as good as team. Dada should take charge against Pakis and Aussies. He has guts to have eye to eye with any one, extracts best from limited ability players

Re:Kumble's bowling,Laxman or Yuvraj
by John Bosco on Nov 06, 2007 04:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Kumble's bowling is going downhill.Harbajan or Karthik will be first choice spinner. So this leaves Yuvraj or Dhoni or Laxman. If Dhoni has a sure place in the team then it has to be him.If on Aussie wickets India wants to play a correct batsman in Dhoni's place asking Karthik to keep as well as open, then Yuvraj or Raina or Rohit or Badrinath gets a test place. Then only Yuvraj or Laxman can be captain.Since everything is by rotation it is better to look at the future and get Yuvraj to be captain. If Dhoni's batting in tests is considered good enough, then Dhoni is the best choice.

Laxman may be the sensible choice as Yuvi is position in the test team is still debated.
