As india is flying high under dhonis captaincy, sachin dont want to be the captain for test team as he knows India is going to lose in Australia. Then these selectors themselves will remove him from the captaincy and replace dhoni there...I dont think dhoni can repeat this success forever and these selectors will be very harsh on him in future..

It just isn't fair to call Sachin a coward. He has often fought bravely while others fell like nine pins all around. He's just being sensible in acknowledging that he isn't a great captain, though he is a batting legend. Nowadays, captaincy is not for gentlemen, aggressive and shrewd guys like Ganguly are better at the job. But the problem is that Ganguly's place in the team is not beyond question. Dhoni is the best choice.....for the future also.

I do respect sachin as a batsman and probably the best in the world...but he is not a good captain...you are absolutely right..ganguly is the best captain india ever seen...now also I feel that yuvraj will be better than dhoni as we are not sure about dhoni's capabilities as a player...

Why should the most prolific batsman ( even currently ) retire just because a few a**h*les want him to?
Dear VENG SARKAR, Now what will be your next move? It seems you did not prepare TEND UL KAR to hold his nerves better. Anyway were you the first person to whom he communicated his most expected decision? Without holding any responsibility, he is so nervous! Why did you suggest this in the first place?
My dear friends... i respect ur support to the Indian Criket team...and thats good..but do ull knw india U16 have qualified for the world cup qualifiers...they beat saudi arabia and are on verge to lead the table...plzz support other sports also...this young kids can make out dream come true of presenting india in world cup for the nxt 6yrs....i knw cricket makes a lot os money but try investing in other sports also special football and hockey ..this is a humble request to all the advertising agenciesm..plz open ur eye..

because u did not specify the sport before all the money i had went to cricket...sorry u missed the chance
It was widely said that Rahul Dravid relinquished captaincy due to unwarranted interference by Dillip Vengsarkar. Again, I read in a leading News portal that Sachin is not happy with the selection process. As such, the Selection Committee - in coalition with the BCCI, inspired by people like Greg Chappel, are there to make everything and anything to spoil the Indian Cricket. Kudos to those players, who are still performing at different levels, inspite of the highhandedness of the BCCI and its wings.
Hey friends all the people who really know cricket or have played some time even for their local colony team know how blessed our generation is that we have seen such a gr8 batsman named Sachin Tendulkar playing. His Straight Drives, Cover Drives, Backfoot punches, Pull, flick of the wrist, Pedal Sweep(inventor of pedal sweep) awesome. His Sixes at Sharjah, his batting in WC 2003 against Shoaib Akhtar, the first batsman to have Tricolor flag on his Helmet, his Valiant effort at Chennai test against Pakistan, his 200 against aussies in Melbourne, his 152 agains Aussies in their own cuntry against McGrath, Warne n Gillespie n there are lots more he has inspired the whole generation. Even his botom hand grip which changed the batting style of present days youngsters Batsman like Sehwag, Dhoni, Yuvraj if u ask them who had inspired them n their batting they have only one answer. But from deep of my heart i want him to retire not cause he is playing bad or something he is still the best in the buisness but because he has become the fav punchbag of some of the people who dont know even the C of Cricket n in their own life are frustated n loosers. It really makes me sad n i think also to all genuine cricket lovers. If Sachin would have been from any other country then surely he would have been respected as Jewel of the country but i think this country has got more number of Loosers n frustated people.

What more respect you want him to be given ? Should Indians write on their body that he's great. He has got more respect and bit more.
BTW even a autorickshaw driver after some years of riding his vehicle will become so expert that he can drive in dark. Sachin has played more than 700 matches (both test and one dayers), so what's the big deal in that ???

I agree with your analysis but not your conclusion. Why should the most prolific batsman ( even currently ) retire just because a few a**h*les want him to? He is a fighter, he'll go down in a blaze of glory.

Great amit. You have succinctly put the feelings of so many paople who treasure Sachin & are dismayed by the tendency (especially of some news channels like Star news, who make caustic comments on him just to get some TRPs. even yesterday I did not see the match after he was out. There is no one who has performed so consistently & agressively for so many years. People should remember that Sachin, Saurav & Dravid walked into team as newcomers & never went out. Such was their performance. Which youngster to recent time has displayed such consistency? How con you replace them just for the sake of a change?
If Dhoni is guaranteed a place in the Test team then he shd be captain. But the advantage of taking someone with experience to go to Australia is there. So it boils down to Laxman or Kumble or Ganguly.I am not so sure if Kumble continues to be first choice spinner. What stands in the way of Ganguly is not clear? If the BCCI will not touch him then Laxman shd be the choice both for series against Pak in India and Aussies in Aus.This will leave other selection issues open like spinner's spot, extra batsman in place of Dhoni with Karthik to open and keep,Yuvraj or Raina or Badrinath in Dhoni's Test spot. Can Yuvraj or Dhoni open the innings.Answer seems no?Then it is Jaffer,Karthik,Dravid,Tendu,Laxman,Ganguly,Dhoni?,Irfan?Kumble?Sreesanth,Zaheer,R.P.Singh.Either Irfan or R.P.Singh will have to sit out. Among new comers Raina can be asked to open as cover for Jaffer and Karthik. And Yuvraj to come in place of Dhoni or a fifth bowler?Seems clear that it has to be Laxman to lead--seems no choice.

Greg Chappel is a sleeping partner of BCCI. As such, he will not allow BCCI to appoint Ganguly to lead the Indian team to his own country.

Why bring Greg in now?Greg has gone and that is it.Unfair to malign him now as he has gone.If Indians have any spirit we shd have a team that can go to Aus and take on the Aussies competitively.Bu no captain?Ha! Ha! What a shame?
I feel Dhoni should be capitan for one days and T20 and Yuvraj for Test as these two are the future of Indian cricket not these oldies.
BCCI should call Yuvraj and Dhoni and tell them these two guys will be responsible for next two years and they should own the team. And if they are really capable then they will own the failures and success equally.
The problem in India is nobody wants to own anything they just find a reason for failure.
