Sachin did accept the vice captainship earlier ! He is also reported to be unhappy at the treatment being meted out to the seniors ! And the delayed refusal ! All these clearly point to two things: one, poor communication between BCCI and the players. Two, that the seniors are under intense pressure to perform in view of the resounding performance from the youngsters. Now, let us analyze their recent performance : the three greats with more than a decade of experience each and more than 35,000 runs in their bags, could they win the series for India against the Aussies ? No. could they draw the series for India ? No. Did they contribute in the two wins ? Perhaps, yes, to a limited extent but nothing spectacular or noteworthy. Even if they had not been there may be the results could have been equally good or bad with all youngsters ! Then why carry this EXCESS BAGGAGE for the one dyers and delay building up a younger team ? Why deny opportunities to budding youngsters who are excelling and are ready to take over ? Incidentally this PAK team is weak and the seniors may find it easy. But it is also the best opportunity to expose the youngsters towards preparation for the tough Aussie series. Is there any doubt that the Aussie series will only further confirm that the seniors are indeed EXCESS BAGGAGE for the one dayers ?

I hope the Seniors are rested for the Aussie ODI's and if required for the Test Matches too .. At least then we will come to know the truth .. & I am guessing that the truth will be "THAT THE SENIORS ARE INVALUABLE FOR THE TEAM RIGHT NOW .. THERE IS NO APT REPLACEMENT FOR THEM YET"
Just look at the previous series statistically..
In the Aussie series .. In the series in England & Ireland ...
Was Yuvraj the highest run getter or was it Dhoni or was it Uthappa or any other youngster?
The Seniors were on top .. and when these folks like Yuvi & dhoni themselves are not able to eclipse the seniors .. what will rookie players like Badrinath & Tiwari do?? I am not counting them off .. but very little chances of them able to hold their places...

It's because of people like u .. and the administrators .. who want to make him a scapegoat ... that he refused the role ..
Otherwise why would he accept Vice-Captainship?
Plz. understand that there is some problem with the administrators as Dravid & Sachin both have declined captaincy .. and the point to note is that . Dravid relinquished captaincy after a succesful series!!

IF ANY BODY THINKS TO KICK THE PLAYER LIKE SACHIN, IT IS THE BAD LUCK NOT ONLY FOR THAT TEAM BUT FOR THE PLAYERS OF NEXT GENERATION

Yeah Right .. WAKE UP!
Before the match nobody said a word about all this .. after losing Paki's come out with this story!
Even with Asif in the team we defeated Paki's twice during the T20 WorldCup .. so Asif or Akhtar .. No Big Deal .. Indians will play competitive cricket and we have a fine blend of youth and experience ...
Also, its not the bowlers who lost the match for Paki's .. It's the batsmen who did not score enough!
Following Dravid's ouster and Sachin's refusal, Sreesanth (wearing an army uniform) stormed into the BCCI Office this morning and declared Indian Cricket in the state of EMERGENCY! He said he is ready to take on the reigns of Test Captaincy for the good of Indian Cricket. He was accompanied by some aged (read 'experienced') Mallu Communist Party Workers who Sreesanth mentioned would be able to help him run the BCCI. Players like Gautam Gambhir, Parthiv Patel, Suresh Raina are very happy as the Left Party workers mentioned that to advertise their party, the selection would obviously favor left handed players!
Meanwhile, the ICC is tightlipped about the situation and only the ICC Defensive Secretary Ms. RiceorWheat has spoken out. She asked Sreesanth to shed his uniform or leave w'office. She mentioned that this kind of behaviour was only expected after all the antics we saw during the Australia series. She further detailed that due to lack of performance, Sreesanth's place in the team was in doubt and hence this move by him!
Opposition parties like MS 'Sharif' Dhoni & Yuvraj 'Bhutto' Shingh have urged people to take to the streets and protest and urged TV Channels to play RangDeBasanti to motivate people.
Meanwhile Sreesanth is busy setting up shop in BCCI premises... Being a Mallu he is continuing the tradition of setting up tea shops everywhere!
