i fully agree. ganguly came back because of political pressures from the Left than on merit. unfortunaltely these days thanks to such a precedent people are tlaking putting pressureon selectors than actually be in the team on merit. no such personshould be allowed to lead again

Ganguly is the `so called' best ever captain, because Shewag, Dravid, Lakshman and Kumble were at their peak during Ganguly's captaincy and won tests and one dayers for India. Ganguly's contribution, both as captain and batsman, was zilch. Dravid was the worst ever, because the entire team, team management, Chairman of Selectors et all worked against him to ensure his downfall. The matter is as simple as that. Don't ever compare an ordinary cricketer like Ganguly to one of India's outstanding cricketers, Dravid.

ricky have you bothered to check some stats before opening your no good dirty mouth and how dare you make misleading statements like ganguly best ever and dravid worst ever...and all that nonsense. our first priority is to send pakistan back home badly beaten in odi's and tests rather than getting involved in these small stupidities!!

It was the dirty politics played by Chappal and Kiran More not Ganguli that ruined the Indian Cricket.

The politics was started by Dalmiya and Ganguly. Ganguly continued to use politics for his personal gains, he misused even the media. He virtually begged to be taken back in to the team like the Pepsi, `Yeh sab kya hua.....' ad. When Dalmiya was out of favour, Ganguly dumped his mentor. CPI(M) used its clout to bring back Ganguly in to the team. Imagine Ganguly's sacking being discussed in the Parliament! This is how much politics was used by Ganguly, not Dravid. Dravid is a thorough gentleman and he has not even opened his mouth even now. Come on, accept that Dravid is a much better cricketer and gentleman than Ganguly.

Mr. Vasudevan: Why did Ganguly seek political intervention if he is such a great player? Dravid is a gentleman and would go by his talents than regional support by fellow-Bengalis a la Ganguli.
Rediff policy of allowing free posting and then freeblocking of messages have led to a chaos. We see blank discussion board. Think how it can be changed.

I have seen many sardars in India are paki supporters. One of them is Surag Singh, might be his ancestors are still living there. I am sure, Surag Singh is not only anti ganguly, but he anti india too.

I have seen replies being posted on who should captain India. Ganguly, Kumble, VVS and Dhoni are making the rounds. However I feel Zaheer could be the answer to the question. 1. He is senior and has experience 2. He is aggressive (Remember what he did to England after Jelly beans incident) 3. He is regular member in Tests and ODI's 4. He is not a Batsman (who usually takes pressure of captaincy and buckle down) 5. He is a good motivator 6. He is relatively young 7. He has experience of playing tests with all the test playing nations.
I wondered if anyone including selectors noticed this. So my choice is Zaheer followed by Ganguly and Kumble.
