Dravid himself does not appear to care too much for records, if one goes by his comments.
On scoring 10000 runs in One-Day Internationals, he commented, rather dismissively, that if one plays cricket for long enough then he is bound to score that many runs.
On scoring a century AGAINST and IN every test playing country, he said that one has to view his achievement in proper perspective and that many of the greats of the past did not have the luxury of playing against (weak) sides such as Zimbabwe and BD.
Number of times has he got out between 85 and 100. If he had played for the records, he would have converted those 80's and 90's into centuries and would have had at least 36 centuries instead of only 24.
Mind you, I am not saying that Dravid is not aware of approaching these milestones, but that he appears not to attach undue importance to records and rather strives to excel and challenge himself.

not really he is a good captain of contemporary cricket...He is rather seems to be the cool, gentle captain of 1930-60s.. Rather, I rate him a great player who had performed in all the circumstances, in all roles, be it a batsman or a keeper, let it be at no. 3 or no.5 ..

Soumya i feel u shud stick to "Tennicoit" as ur area of expertise. It's Mohinder Amarnath, not Rajinder Amarnath..

Mohinder has two brothers. Elder Surinder, and younger one Rajender. May the guy wants rajender. All have cricket in there times.

Even Surinder won a match by frightening the wicket keeper who missed the ball which went for a four !!!!
It is not proper to have a discussion board and get all sort of reports on a world record I think rediff shoud discontinue the discussion board on such records.

all the records of our cricketers are just for files. When the real testing situation comes, all the records get smoked in air. There is no point in having degrees if u dont posess the required level of expertise and deliver when required!

The One great partnership with VVS at Calcutta -stands tall and stays very strongly in the minds of all cricketers of Australia.... Dravid has been recognized for his authentic batting potential.... One championship failure is NOT all life...
