Since their beloved Saurav played better than any other Indian cricketers, Bengalis are happy. They seem little bothered about performance of the National Team! Height of jingoism. Its the Bengalis to blame and not Saurav.

Sourav is an asset, not of West Bengal, whatever he has done as captainn, it is for India. I could not understand the reason for such jealousy. Yes, he is shrewed, he is politicin, that is why he is strategist and leader. The reader must read my posting, just posted with details and analyse.

So you think if everyone in the airport waiting with their shoes in hand to beat Ganguly then Benaglis would become very patriotic? And Indians are never very nationalist. We Indians think only about our states and we are all more or less communal - just do not show it. So do not try to pretend that you are not.

Suman, Well, I guess you could have expected that, after the India VS South Africa ODI at Eden isn't it ? In Bengal the so called cricket loving public aren't cricket loving but Bengal cricketer loving. I guess Andhra Pradesh could have reacted the same way, after VVS Laxman's episode not just in this world cup but also in the previous world cup But as mentioned this behavious is special to Bengal!

Suppose say, we agree that our team has failed, what shall we do, shall we throw stone egg on them like you all did. If you fail in your examination does your loved ones throws stone at you. What a poor thinking.

At least ganguly scored some runs. Probably he is the highest scorer among indians. So before making this sort of comment just think. You should be in some asylum.

Is ill treating the players because India lost is justified? I do not think it is good and healthy mentality. Then why giving a reception is so bad?
Hi I think saurav ganguli needs to be in politics not in indian Cricket. He will be good politician bz he knows how to play games with indian pplz including begali ..

Some crazy folks like you basically ruins the Indian cricket and cricketers. First feel the guts of a player like Ganguly who fought all the odds to regain the position in the squad then have the audacity to comment on him.

These days are not the days of Gandhigiri, so if Sourav has done politics then he has done the right thing, because it stands TIT for TAT.
I have gone through lots of post about Sourav Ganguly standing by Rahul when Rahul wasn't in the best of the nick in ODI's. Also that Sourav accomodated Rahul in his ODI setup as a keeper so that Rahul can retain his place. Check the records for yourself. Rahul's peak time in ODI started during the Newzealand tour in 1998-99 just before the 1999 world cup. This was when he re-invented his One Day batting technique. At that time Md Azharuddin was the Indian Skipper not Sourav. Rahul btb was the highest run getter in the 1999 edition of WC held in UK. Secondly, with regard to Rahul's wicket keeping claim, it was Sourav's master brain to thrust Rahul with the job not because he wanted Rahul to retain the place in ODI but because he wanted to accomodate an extra batsman in the team. Hope this puts the record straight. Cheers

If Ganguly got out cheap, still India could have won . There were Dhoni, Rahul & Yuvraj. What did they do??? Just kept losing wickets....

listen you bangush if sourav has made 66 in less then 100 balls we would have won the match against bangladesh but he made in 127 balls. he was making sure that india could not win the match. because of his slow run rate 5 batsman got out in hurry to accelerate. now he is eyeing captaincy again. very shrewd.

Mr Singh.. you can't hide failure of our so called World best batsmen. Sachin, Sehwag, Dravid, Dhoni.... none of them play at least 30 balls. Please rethink...

no use of scoring 66 in 129 balls and get out by scoping a lollypop. He presuured batsmen to follw him
Let us accept the truth.I mean to say apart from the players the other people responsible for this disastarous display are the media people.they make so much of the hype on the day of the match and when we loose they start biting them
Ganguli is a fighter. He got his place in WC because others fialed to deliver. You give enough time to Kaif, Raina, Rao, and Gambhir. Everybody plays well in domestic cricket, but failed miserably in International cricket excepot Kaif. Others make the way to Ganguly, forget he is a bengali, he is an Indian, but remember other players too.

Well Said ...i agree with you ..after all we r indian rather than bengali , gujrathi ..marathi ..thanks a lot Biju..
According to a senior BCCI official as shown in NDTV... Greg Chappel was biased.... a man like ganguly who was out of team cannot divide the team... what nonsense comments a coach makes that he wanted raina (who failed in so mnay matches) to be in the indian team. Such irresponsible coach

The best thing for ganguly is to retire. he is a has been if at all. He is just crazy for money and ants to be the captain whether team india needs him or not. And ofcourse he is the icon for middle class bengalis. God help Ganguly and the bengali community.

ALSO THE POLITICIAN MR.PAWAR IS ALSO PLAYING THE GAMES, FIRST HE HAVE TO QUIT IS POSITION, JAGMOHAN DALMYA WAS BETTER TO RULE THE BOARD, THAN THIS MR.PAWAR. WHEN THE POLITICAL LEADERS CAME IN THE BCCI EVERYTHING WENT WRONG.
