The so called spin quartet of yesteryears namely Bedi,Prass,Venkat and Chandra think that they are and will be best of all times.As a matter of fact they were not more than ordinary.We in India had Subhas Gupte who was considered as the best and to say the least even Maninder was better than Bedi as his arm ball was deadly.By any imagination,the best spinners of our generation will be Warne and Murlitharan.As far as present crop is concern only P Chawla is showing promise.Even than,Indian board should try and exploit fast bowlers of sheer speed like Bond,Brett and Akhtar as only fast bowlers can win you matches on any soil,while spinners need doctored pitches.

Lol .. Murali the best off spinner .. I guess its mere stupidity if you call a chucker the best off spinner ... He is the man who takes N no of wickets in subcontinent especially against teams like bangladesh , zimbabwe and westIndies .. see howz his record against teams like australia and India who are good players against spin ..
Prasanna, may be good spinner at his times, but the things now changed. At that time there is video clipping or Computers to study oppositions bowling. Now, with the technology is there, it is very difficult for bowlers either spinner or pace bowlers to go for variations every day. Once a batsman was out to good ball, he sees that reply 50 times to correct himself if the same ball is again bowled to him. In these circumstances also Warne, Muralitharan or Kumble taking 07 or 08 wickets per innings means it is really remarkable. How in the hell Prasanna saying that no good spinner there in the world.

From your reply, it seems you do not know whether a cricket field is round or square. You think that cricket is played in video games. Yaar, we are not talking of video games cricket, but cricket on field.

Hey Sai. All the three are great spinners. But with Shande Warne, he has got most of his wkts against England and SA who are the worst players of spin. Shane Warne's against India is very bad. Murali has got more wkts against Bangladesh than Shane. Similarly Prasanna got his good and bad, the way cricket played now a days changed a lot, test runs are scored at an avg rate of 3.00/over, in ancient days it was less than 2/over. So we cant compare any of these greats to each other, all the three are great in their own league. So enjoy the game of cricket.
Hi, There has been must talk about the upcoming series against the Englishmen. I think that India has a very good chance of winning the series against england,even a whitewash provided Dravid should not make selection blunder.THe team selection totally now is in Dravid hand as there is no coach. So he should give the idea of playing two regular wicket-keeper.He should either choose Karthick or Dhoni. I would prefer Karthick. And second Jaffer should be dropped.He has been given enough opportunity to prove himself.He has only got one century against Bangladesh and that too after getting out for a duck on both the innings in the first test.Gambhir should be given a chance.And Laxman is a must. And he should bat at number 3.Dravid should be demoted to number 6. Only 4 blowers should be chose.Kumble is a must.Why to play a 5th bowler if he is under-bowled.I simple don't understand why the team is playing with 5 bowlers as Kumble always gets most of the wickets and also bowls max number of overs(more than 40 overs).I have seen that the 5th bowler is always under-bowled. He hardly bowls more than 10 over in an innings.So why to sacrifice a batman for only 10 over.

Why do you want to remove Jaffer? He scored a century against RSA, BAN. He also performed very weel against WI in WI. So why do you wanna take him out. Even in the lkast england tour Jaffer played very well. Karthik & Dhoni both going to be in the team. We definitely need Laxman in the team. Take Yuvraj Singh out from Test Cricket. he is no good in Tests. ODIs he is too good.
