Hey Amit, Why dont you go s**k Australians? You should have some knowledge about cricket, which you dont have I suppose. Otherwise you would have never said there are Five Sachins in Australian team. How many of your Australian Sachins have scored 41 centuries in one dayers, how many of your Australian Sachins have got 52 man of the match awards? If you still dont know this, then just shut up and watch Cricket and learn. Remember, there is only one Sachin Tendulkar in the world, and that also in INDIA, INDIA and Only INDIA.

I can't understand why sachin is always compared with australian players. If there are many good players in Australian team and every one is performing consistently that doesn't mean they all are better than sachin. They are performing bcoz their confidence level is too high and which is due to their winning streak from a long long time and that is bcoz whole team is performing all together not a single player. So it is not that all australian players are better than sachin! If Indian team would have been performing all together then sachin also might be far far better than now. Many other world class players like Brian lara, Jacques Kallis, Andrew Flintoff, Kevin Peterson having same problem.

Hey for your information Australian team has the best bowling attack in the world which means the runs they score against all the other teams is against weaker bowling attack. But sachin has and will keep scoring against the best bowling attack in the world. No wonder u say there are 5 tendulkars in australia but as a matter of fact there can be one and only one tendulkar and he is ours!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Amit, Australia have bowlers like macgrath, bret lee And who said to you all australian players perform always. SO many times australian team scored lower total but then bowlers did well. In Australia people do not only watch cricket , they also enjoy other sports like Ruggby .Even so many OZ's do not know their cricket team player name but in India , Cricket is everthing for indians. we should understand how much pressure on indian cricket player Especially on sachin. He knows very well that how much team dependent on him. His one loose shot change the match very quickly but it does not happen in australia. They play as they want. Only one centuary of sachin and one win make breaking news for all news channel.

I totally agree with your comment. India has got a few Sachin in its team in the likes of Sehwag, Dravid, Dhoni, Yuvraj and Sachin himself. But with India what happens is that it is always Sachin who has to perform. If he fails in one match we can see the result. I live in Australia and I follow all the matches that Australia plays. The media never critisises any of its players. If Ricky Ponting gets out for a duck he is never hasseled. Its true that they perform consistently. But it is because they play as a team and all the 11 players contribute in one way or the other rather than depending on one person. So let India perform as an unit and I am confident that it can do wonders at the world cup. After all Australia is also playing a game called cricket which India also plays and they are also human beings.

Pls dont compare Sachin with anybody , It does not make any sense. Sachin has his own way of playing cricket. let him play the way he likes. We don't have any right and knowledge to teach him. Shutup and watch cricket.

The Aussies need not face their own world class bowlers like McGrath,Lee,Warne & others, where as Sachins & Laras have faced them with credit.Note this point when you compare Aussie batsmen with others.

this is the worst comment. it is the same sachin who has scored centuries often in australia and south africa
WE ARE DESPERATELY WAITING A BIG KNOCK FROM YOU AND FINALLY YOU DID BEFORE ONE OF THE GREAT BATSMAN BRIAN LARA. WE REALLY SALUTE FOR SUCH A WONDERFUL KNOCK
When many people say how many of Sachin's hundreds have come for a winning cause, I decided to check the Cricinfo stats and here are the results.
Out of the 41 hundreds, 11 hundreds have gone in vain.
I will try to analyse each of them.
1. 137 off 137 balls Vs SriLanka at Delhi in 1996 World Cup. India scored 271/3 in 50 overs. The only other 50 score was from Azhar. SL made 272 in 48.4 overs. Manoj Prabhakar had 4-0-47-0. He also opened in the innings with Sachin and scored 7 of 36 balls.
2. 100 of 111 Balls Vs Pak in Singapore- Apr 96. India 226 all out in 47.1 overs, When Sachin was out score was 186/4. Pak had a reduced target of 187 from 33 overs.
3. 110 of 138 Balls vs Sri Lanka In Colombo - Aug 96. Again India 226 for 5 in 50 overs, Only other 50 score from Azhar (58 of 99 balls).Sachin has also bowled 6-0-29-1, the second most economical bowler and the only wicket taker (SL were 230/1 in 44.2) of the match next to Srinath. 7 bowlers were used by Azhar.
4. 143 of 131 Balls Vs Aus at Sharjah, Apr 1998. This was chasing under lights. The qualifying match before the final. The whole world knows about this match. Still one interesting point, when Sachin was out India were 242 at 5 at 43 overs. Target was 276 in 46. Still India finished at 250/5 scoring just 8 of the next 3 overs. Great performance by Laxman and Kanithkar indeed.
5. 101 of 140 Balls against SL at Sharjah in Oct 2000. Indian score was 224/8 in 50 overs. (No other 50 score). SL got 225/5 in 43.5, Sachin also bowled 5-0-22-0, better economy rate than everyone except Srinath.
6. 146 of 153 Balls against Zimbabwe at Jodhpur - December 2000 India made 283 / 8 in 50 overs. Sachin was the last man to be dismissed, score was 235/8 at 46.3 overs when he was out. Agarkar and Zaheer Khan propelled India to 283 in the last 3.3 overs. When Sachin has scored 146 of 235 in 46.3 overs, you can guess what the other 8 great batsmen were doing against the World class Zimbabwe attack. Second Highest scorer was Zaheer Khan with 32. Zim got 284/9 in 49.5 overs. Agarkar bowled the last over. Sachin also got 6-0-35-1
7. 101 of 129 Balls Vs SA at Johannesburg - Oct 2001 India got 279/5 in 50, Ganguly made 127 of 126 balls. When Ganguly got out, the score was 193-1 in 35.2 overs. Sachin was the last man to get out at 263. SA got 280 in 48.4 overs. Sachin bowled 9-0-51-0, second best in economy rate next only to Agarkar (10-0-45-1)
8. 141 of 135 balls Vs Pak at Rawalpindi, March 2004. India were chasing 329 and were 317 all out in 48.4 overs, 8 balls to spare. No other batsman made even a 50 (when chasing 300 ) and when Sachin was out, India were 245-4 in 38.4 overs. They needed 85 from 68 balls with 6 wickets in hand.
9. 123 of 130 Balls vs Pak at Ahmedabad, April 2005. India made 315/6 in 48 overs (48 over match), again no other 50 score. Second highest was Dhoni 47 of 64 balls, (third highest was extras - 39). Pak made 319 in 48 overs. The three quicks (Balaji, Nehra and Khan went for 188 runs from 26 overs between them taking only 2 wickets). Sachin bowled 6-0-36-1. No Harbhajan and no Kumble.
10. 100 of 113 Balls Vs Pak at Peshawar, Feb-2006. India were 328 all out in 49.4 overs. Pathan and Dhoni got 60 each. When Sachin was out when India were 305-5 in 45 overs. Managed only 23 in the last 5 overs.
Pak scored 311/7 in 47 overs and won by D/L method. Could have been anybody's game. Sachin did not bowl.
11. 141* of 148 balls vs WI at Malaysia. India made 309 /5 in 50 overs. Sachin was not out. Pathan was the only other 50 scorer. WI made 141/2 in 20 overs and won by D/L method. Again could have been anybody's game.
In the other 31 instances India has won 30 times and once there was no result.
Now, please think again when you say sachin's 100s were in the losing cause and that he is not a team player. It is a fact that for the entire 90's India played International cricket with 1 player and 10 jokers.

Well Said. Not only Jokers only but bloody Match fixers as well. Please understand that Sachin was winning matches when there were a bunch of bloody match fixers were at the peak of their niusance namely Azar, Jadeja, Mongia, Prabhakar and few from the BCCI and selection committee. We have to understand that these people used to wait for Sachin to get out before fixing a match and there are instances where Sachin was ran out or asked by the captain to play slow for fixing up a match. I guess he is the only player who has stood up in those situations to give us a name. Rahul and Saurav were probably in their nappies during that time. He is been a great ambassador of the game and gentle human being as well. We should stop critising him that he wasn't a match winner. After all what does Man of tha Match mean and he has got the maximum number of those with the second man (Sanath) distantly away. Its time we start analysing Sachin with an unbiased mind.

Great work !!! This again proves that we can interpret stats in many ways ! Example: 4. 143 of 131 Balls Vs Aus at Sharjah, Apr 1998.
276 - 243 = 33 overs left = 3 balls left = 18
How can you expect a new batsmen to come and score with the rate of 12 when he has only 3 overs .. No time to settle down !
I am not anti sachin but please dont tell everyone the way you think. We can interpret stats the way we want .. Cheers!!!

I am not sure you have seen this match.Personally, this match had one of the greatest cricketing moments. This was when the great man was playing and a dust storm interrupted the innings.Everyone including the other Indian batsman went back in to the dressing room. But Sachin was sitting outside without removing his helmet waiting for the storm to blow over. For him,the job was important and he couldn't afford to lose concentration!!Mind you, this was the mighty Aussies on their 'last frontier' tour. And what is not mentioned by Nageswaran's amazing ststs is that the innings from Sachin got India into the final as we had to reach a certain score for India to qualify for the final. And when we reached there, the crowd celebrated as if we had won and everyone expected Sachin to ease up.But He kept going after the Aussies suprising the commentator Tony Grieg "Oh! he hasn't finished yet!! He is looking for victory here!" And then Sachin was unfortunately given out lbw to Kasparowiz when he wasn't. Well, stats don't tell you the story always. Cheers to you too.If you get the video-get it! -sabharim

this video is available in youtube.com. search for "sachin" with "sharjah". i too had the previledge of watching that inning live and an equally brave match winning inning of 136 to win the cup for India. But the assaults on a full strength paki attack with the 2 great Ws world's fastest bowler, the one on McGrath in ICC champions trophy, Kenya and the one on Shane Warne throughout his courier are gems !!!!!!
there is so much comparision going on with Lara. but no one expects in west indies expect him to win matches, even if he doesnt, no one bothers ..... thats how the windies take it ......... but its not the same with sachin. only he knows the meaning of pressure everytime he goes out to bat. as with the airtel ad, "one raised finger (against sachin) can break millions of hearts" - very true !!!!!!

and then in very next match scored another century 134 leading india to victory in finals, and geatest memory of that win was after scoring 141 he casually said"what they did to us in delhi we might do them the same " remember india lost final of triseries before that in delhi after winnning all the matches in league stage,he certainly played innings of his lifetime after challenging openly in match presentation
sachin is a living legend, people who are demanding for his head are a group of idiots and fools who dont know how to respect a great great player.he is the best india has produced and will be difficult to find for ages 76 internatinal hundreds (41odi 35test) when he broke this record of international hundreds it was(35 centuries in both form on name of viv richards and sunil gavaskar) compare now next to him ponting is on 53 and lara on 52.

18 balls 33 runs is a cake-walk in the dire-times for teams like Aus, NZ, India of course. Not a matter of settling- being AGRESSIVE... defintitely 4 fours (16), 1 six (6), 4 twos (8), 3 singles (3). Still one ball left- there would definitely be extras throwed too...

Interesting Fact from tables of MoM winners. I dont see anybody from AUS, SA, NZ in the list. Which validates the fact that most of our wins are not Team wins, we depend heavily on 1 or 2 great players to carry the day.

The Last line is out of context, even Sachin required atleast one jocker as player to score runs and/or run between wickets. After good statistics you described tastlessly in the last line of your message "It is a fact that for the entire 90's India played International cricket with 1 player and 10 jokers."

After a long time we are able to see the team work from the indian team
This looks like a response from Sachin to rediff feature ?Leave Sachin Alone?a couple of days back. I think we just need to do that. Let us rejoice the Indian victory and avoid focus on, expectation from, excitement and frustration out of individual performances. Let us also not react too much when India lose. While we enjoy this series victory, let us not forget that this has happened on a batting strip (atleast 3 matches) and when we go abroad, things would be different.
Let us just hope we are able to do it till the end of World Cup and especially against countries like Australia and South Africa.
Good knock Sachin !! This knock reminded us of the earlier Sachin in his 20's. Remove all the shackles that are present in your mind and play freely. The nation needs such knocks from you consistently. rgds, Sandeep
